Problems with new format...

Since finding the (original) dog.com forum, I quickly found that it became the first one I'd visit each day and the place where I'd spend most of my time.  With this new format, though, I can tell you right now that I'll be switching back over to my horse related boards.  I don't think I can stand this completely inconvenient new format.  It's a shame, too, since I really like the folks on this board.

If changing the forums was a business decision, it was a very bad one.  I think it will drive many people away and will not encourage new members at all.  Yes, there are worse formats out there, but they are also boards that I have not visited more than once.

My topic reply notifications are as messed up as ever, BTW.  I originally found them in my spam box.  Now they aren't coming at all again.

Staying or leaving is a personal decision. And your opinion is important to the folks who run the forum just like all of ours are.

However it's early days...and I think that a lot of positive helping has been going on...and I don't think that negativity is as helpful. That's just me tho.

the really big problem i have is that SOMEONE COULD HAVE WARNED US!!! i thought idog was down all this time! :'(

or was i just too dumb to see it?

anyways, i like the visual design of it. not sure about the convenience factor... gimme a few days... hmmm.. i just dont like the fact that i have to get used to it all over again...

also: i noticed a lot of the threads that were started in the old format are sort of "abandoned". people arent answering anymore. probably too busy trying to get used to the new forum... ergh...

I definitely prefer the old format as well. I do like the blog feature though, that's pretty cool

I, and a few others, mentioned during testing that this format isn't very user friendly. I hope that it gets better over time.

I think that all of the different colors are very distracting. If the colors were toned down a bit, it would go a long way to making the site easier to read. The site looks very cartoon-ish the way it stands now.

It is very fast though which is nice!

It's hard to tell which topics have new posts and what not. Maybe that'll take some getting used to?

Overall it just doesn't look very focused. Too busy...

One thing that bugs me is the list of threads only shows who posted last, not who started the thread.

Ditto that.  I'm sure I can get used to the rest of it even if I don't care for some of it.  But this is a really undesirable change.

This site is so slow on my computer, it's really hard to get around it as fast as other websites I access on my computer.

     I agree as well.

I think it would be helpful if under the "Posts I have not read" shortcut, it could say what thread the posts are in (as the title alone usually isn't that informative.

Glenda, in case you haven't noticed yet- all your posts are coming up either completely blank or with 1 or 2 letters... Confused

I'm trying but it still isn't fixed.

So how do we find the form to send suggestions?? I'm def going to be suggesting they make the darn thing fully compatible with browsers other than Internet Exploder or Firefox - I know it's more work behind the scenes but it is seriously a PITA to have to switch browsers just to be able to post...most sites check compatibility with more than one or two browsers before going live afterall.
