Well, I'm a member! Of course, I just joined the board yesterday! [sm=lol.gif]
But I try VERY hard to follow the rules when I'm in someone else's house, so I think I'll be a member for a good long time.
Secrets for success?
1. Talk about the subject, not the members.
2. Talk about what
I do or what
I would do instead of telling someone else what
they should do.
That's pretty much it.
I know it's easy to get emotional about something most of us consider a "passion". But it's important to remember that telling someone how to raise their dog is akin to telling them how to raise their child. And
that's not usually welcomed with open arms. [

] Especially if it's unsolicited advice implying that what they're doing is horribly wrong and going to ruin their dog (or kid) for life! [sm=biggrin.gif] For some reason, people don't like to hear that...
Drama happens. And I actually like a little drama now and then, truth be told. But what's important to remember is that even if I totally disagree with someone, I don't have to hate them or publicly humiliate them or make them wrong. In fact, I have lots of cyber-friends with whom I TOTALLY disagree... They're not raising my dogs, so why should I care? Who knows? I may be wrong. (Nah..)
