    Getting A Real Life...

If you can find enough time and energy to spend 5+ hours on idog a day, fighting. Then you may want to consider doing something more productive with your time. Here are some idea's:

    1. Volunteer. Volunteering is a wonderful way to help out homeless dogs, or the less fortunate.

    2. Get a job. Getting a job is not only a way to meet new people, but it will pay you, this is a wonderful bonus.

    3. Walk/train your dogs. Walking and training your dogs will keep them from becoming bored and ill mannered. Spending more time with your dog will also give you better things to talk about when you do have an extra 10 min. to spare on idog.

    4. Make friends. Making new friends is a wonderful way to SOCIALIZE yourself.. and make you a more valuable member of the community.

    5. Get a hobby. Hobbies are wonderful, they teach you new skills and allow you to focus your energy into something productive.

Seriously, the squabbling on this site is out of control and makes me wonder about anyone with this much free time on their hands. If you really do have enough energy to argue this much, you need to find a positive outlet for it.

    Best of luck.

I'm trying I'm trying! But my dollar is bendy on the corner and the stupid vending machine won't take it!
Anyone got a crispier one so I can get my life! [sm=biggrin.gif]

Gina, I'll give you a crisp dollar bill if you can get that little crane machine to drop right onto the stuffed bunny I've been trying to get for the boy![;)]

I'm working and cannot PM moderators right now.  But, I will later.  This is rude and disrespectful to members here and condescending making them sound like idiots who don't do anything all day.  This should be removed.  I believe it's rule #3, no taunting, disrespect, etc???

This disturbed me too and I decided to just watch, but Lori, I agree that it should be at the very least closed.

I will close this thread and if Personal Champ disagrees she can reopen it.

The thread appears to have been reopened so, condescend and disrespect at will.  [:D]

I'd love to know why this was reopened.  I really would.  I don't get this.  The admin wants a nice peaceful community where everyone is polite and yet they encourage ;posting of things like this.  And, as far as I'm concerned this is breaking their own rules that they talk about so much.

Just the title alone, getting a real life.  When does anyone tell anyone to "get a life" in a NICE way, please.

I don't think this thread is condescending.  Maybe that's just my own opinion.

The sentiment that this thread conveys-IMO is that there are more important things in life than bickering over issues on an online forum.  Why would one spend 5 hours in a non-productive internet argument when one could spend those same 5 hours doing something constructive and positive?

At least that's the message I got.

Why were you checking to see if it was reopened?

Basically the OP is telling us to spend less time on the forum, basically the OP is saying not to come to idog as much as we should, i dont think thats good publicity for idog

the ".com" part after idog indicates that this is a business, the idea of this forum besides helping people and talk about dogs, etc, etc is to make those who spend hours here to buy one or 2 things from the website

Less time here means less chances for sales

    I second this.

There are much less inflammatory ways of making the point the OP was trying to make.

This sure is no personal attack or any kind of blatant rudeness.  I have seen far more rudeness on a moderator.

I am taking her suggestions.  There are many who may take a personal affront because whent they look in the mirror may see something they aren't exactly happy with.  And if that is the case, opening your eyes to it, whatever it is, Is good.

Ok.. what did I miss here? Are there some posts that are missing or something because I don't see what all the fuss is really about?  I mean no disrespect to you Lori, nor Glenda, nor Espence… but I take it as "stop complaining and get a little perspective”.  I don't see where anyone is saying don't spend time here, or don't buy product from dog.com, or that idoggers don't have a life.   I actually appreciate this thread as Sera J just reminded me that instead of spending time bickering with forum members yesterday, I should chose to ignore it, just let it go and do something more productive.     SO I WANT TO SAY "THANK YOU” to Sera for reminding me to let the negative crap go.  Now maybe I am missing something about this thread or I have missed some deleted posts that caused this thread to be closed in the first place, but my opinion is that it is a good reminder to all of us.[:)]
