I think that regardless of what you think of another person's personal beliefs and experiences, a certain level of civility is necessary.
Ratsicles, I agree with you 100%. There is no reason for a discussion not to remain civil.
My thread was closed, and I recieved a very snotty PM from the moderator that closed it. Thanks to a few people who ruined my thread, I can no longer discuss the issue with the people who WERE helping me. My request to have it reopened have so far been ignored.
I am very sorry that the mod in the behavior section behaved so poorly. One would think that being a mod would require a certain amount of tact. I went to post on your thread but I realized that it had been closed. I tried to read the posts, only to find a sea of red.
Now, thanks to a small group of people, I can no longer discuss HELPING my dog- which is the entire point of this forum.
If I were you, I would post in the training section. I have found the mod there to be much more tactful, & even handed when threads begin to get heated. There are many knowledgeable members who frequently help out in the training section, who do not visit behavior, due to the uneven hand of the mod there.
I do have to state that I am usually busy during the day, so my internet access during the daytime is limited. I have been very disappointed in the behavior section. When I get on idog at night, I am only allowed to read posts that the mod agrees with. Any dissention “among the ranks” is red inked, & not made available to the public. This makes it very hard for me, to be fully aware of what is going on, therefore preventing me from posting. I believe that the uneven hand of a mod, is censorship at it#%92s finest.
What a sad, sad, day when the busiest area of the forum is the “complaint” area.
