Well, two things.
First, when I saw her siggie, the right hand picture, those natural ears are much more erect than G's ever were - so, I knew that she would have an easier time of standing up, since such a major part of them already wanted to stand.
Second, Amanda did say her vet had some technique to get them to posted without putting something inside of her ears (to mitigate the ear infection aspect). I have no idea what the technique would be, but I've heard of using breathe-right strips. I've watched the video a couple of times and I can't see any on the interior or exterior of the ears, although I've paused it several times to try to see something on the backside of her right ear.
All that being said - unless there are breathe right strips, or she had inserts done (explain later) it's sorta questionable that the tips are standing so well already. The only other thing I can think of is that if you look at her last video, those ears could easily have been cropped in such a way that they would stand so well without movement. But for me, it's the tips lack of movement as she runs that is the tip-off (pardon the pun) to me. Granted, she's excitedly following a toy, which will pull the ears up to high erect, but it's the tips, man!
G's were droopy for 2 days before we started posting - the vet wanted to get them air first. She was 13/14 weeks at the time. Amanda says Cher is estimated to be 19/20 weeks, but she thinks that's off. So, at best, she could be 15 weeks - I have a hard time believing a vet would be wrong by more than a month. The video is so grainy that I can't even tell if there are stitches in her ears, but Amanda did say they were laser cauterized, so I am guessing that means stitches were not necessary?
As for the inserts, they are, essentially, doggie plastic surgery. They typically do it when a pup's (or dog's) ears have proven they won't stand on their own. They put plastic tabbie things into the ears to keep the tips stiff. They'll never naturally relax, since there's plastic holding them out/stiff. I have no idea if a conformation judge would notice this, or if it's generally accepted or frowned upon in the ring, but I know it's done. Perhaps Amanda pre-emptively had this done. You'd be able to feel them inside the ears, like flat hard things as you ran your fingers along her ear leathers.
