uprooting Anne out of behavior... or giving the alternantive to her threads.
I don't think she'll ever be uprooted from behavior. She is fanatical and is on a mission to spread The Word. Why else does she battle so often and initiate conversations on her topics of choice? PS, she has her own forum now called POS-idogs.... um, idogs is a little close to home, just saying.... be aware.
As for training/behavior discussions... I don't feel like an authority on either. I believe Anne sees herself as one, as backed up by her certifications in dog training (from an on-line school, here's the course, where "Dog Training for Dummies" is the textbook, literally: http://www.cengage.edu.au/animal-care-courses/pet-obedience-trainer), Pet Care Technician - also an at-home, self-paced, open-book exam certification: http://www.petcareservices.org/index.cfm/lev1/921/Education, grooming from a 100-hr course that teaches (direct quote from their site:) "Basic Skills: bathing, drying, brushing, equipment usage and maintenance, clipper patterns, etc.." http://www.nysdg.com/courses.html, & CPR (from the Red Cross), and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Salem State College, which I have no intention of analyzing - it can stand alone.
The thing that bothers me (and I think you guys, too? Maybe I'm assuming) is a lot of this is old discussions, sometimes new players. The new players is the only thing that makes bringing up an old topic worth it. So, I want to find a way to engage new players - even if it's those who call my arguments childish. lol Will initiating our own threads do that, if the same players continue dominating and bickering every thread (regardless of who starts it)? I mean, look at Liesje - she tries to start new threads and they get eaten up, too. So, I'm going to marinate my brain on what could induce someone new to want to participate in discussions, and what would keep them there. I think us initiating NEUTRAL subjects is one very good way to start, but I can't be held to a schedule - can any of us right now? Let's see how we can "chart" this out/brainstorm before we initiate it... that should be a good indicator of how much time/attention we could give the threads, eh?
