Oh man you guys......now I'm SURE thats what my DH is doing to me!!!!!!!

Yes, "ignore" can help a lot of things. I remember what Tim Conway said about marriage. "I never knew what true happiness was until I got married ... and then, it was too late."

Or from the movie "My Cousin Vinny" The judge, played by the late Fred Gwynn "Did you say fiance?" "Yes, your honor." "Ah, that explains the animosity."

I had my "ignore" turned up too high.

I had that talent with my ex-wife, Ron.  I could even answer her questions and have no idea what she said.  It was like I would mentally process the information long enough to answer, then erase it from memory.  It was BEAUTIFUL.

A common talent amongst husbands.  My own can do it.  I call it parallel processing.  It bypasses his active thoughts and goes straight to his subconscious, enabling him to have an entire conversation with me and make all the right sounds in all the right places, while actually thinking about something else entirely... even being able to answer some impromptu questions and repeat the last thing I said back to me almost word for word.... yet not remembering ANY of the conversation later on!

The wonders of evolution in action.... you see it's mostly only men who can do this who are able to breed and pass their genes on to the next generation.  Those who can't do it often find themselves sleeping on the sofa for example.

Your husband's ability is more refined than mine.  I would not have been able to repeat what she said.

    That's why she's your EX.

Well of course, I wouldn't stick around with someone that unutterably boring and unremarkable either! Smile

But good genetics is only a start. It still requires practice and skill.

When my friend Lee and his wife had celebrated 25 years together, he said, "It doesn't seem like a day over 50."

I have been considering this comment for some time and have concluded my initial impression of it was correct.  It is a shot.  So, Stick out tongue
