Ixas_girl,
You
are not required to like any of the staff here, and you have in your
way made it abundantly clear that you have a problem with the majority
of us. That's fine, and doesn't bother any of us in the slightest.
The only thing you are required to do is respect the fact that we are
the staff here and we do the best we can. Given that you voluntarily
resigned your position as Moderator (after, I notice, removing some of
the nastier comments you made to us in the Mods Den), repeated
suggestions that you were somehow better at it are really bad form -
and that's even assuming that it's true.
It has escaped no one's
notice that the majority of threads you have participated in or started
in recent weeks have been for the sole purpose of calling us out, and I
question how that benefits anybody. I'd like to remind you that when
mistakes are made I do my utmost to remedy them - within minutes, as
you will hopefully recall. We are open to suggestions on how to make
the forum a better place and have no problem with someone making us
aware that we have erred in some way, but there is a big difference
between that and making a concerted effort to make us, and this forum,
look bad. You point out what you perceive as divisiveness and bias,
while pretending not to realise that you are guilty of those very
things yourself. While clever, the innocent act isn't fooling anyone.
Without
putting too fine a point on it, you know where the door is. Since you
dislike this forum and how it is run, you are welcome to stop posting
and take your knowledge elsewhere - to your own forum, for example. I
can assure you, though, that if you continue to stir the pot in the way
you have been since your resignation, the decision will be made for
you. Staff here do a time consuming job for no reason other than the
love of the community, and we will take any necessary steps to ensure
that the environment remains pleasant for the majority.
You
claim that we are losing members. That may or may not be true, but the
loss of members who would rather simply leave than make an effort to
reverse some "trend", real or imagined, are making the choice that is
best for them, and who are we to question it? Our job here is to make
the forum as pleasant as possible for the members who are posting, not
to hold people here who have decided that this place is not for them.
Members have their own part to play in making a community what they
want it to be. Forums gain and lose members daily, and if we try too
hard to tailor things to the membership on any given day, we can be
sure that the next day or week or month will bring a wave of members
who do not like the way it is, and the process begins again. Far
better to maintain, as much as possible, an air of civility and
helpfulness, and to let the rest of the chips fall where they may.
Kind regards,
Benedict - Dog.community Administator
