Ingrid Newkirk has really lost her mind!!

As some of you know, Ingrid Newkirk, the crazed VP of PETA who wants all pets banished from the earth has made some ridiculous and accusatory remarks over the years but she has taken it to far this time, LOL!

She is using her status and fame to target and lash out at celebritites....granted I dont agree with Sharon Stone either there has to be some line drawn regarding Ingrid using her title to personally lash out at people. If I were on the staff of PETA (which I despise, LOL) I would be P-O'ed

I think Ingrid Newkirk a real sicko.
You know what I don't understand, how can she bash people for owning pets when some of PETA's biggest supporters own pets? Example, Pam Anderson who has donated a ton of money and also posed nude for PETA owns a couple dogs. IMO, that's like biting the hand that feeds you.

I was just thinking about that when the whole Pam Anderson verus Jessica Simpson thing happened. Has nobody came to Pam or other supportive celebrities and said "Hey, are ya crazy", LOL!

I refused to take my younger cousin to a Pink concert becasue she supported Peta.....which is odd becasue Pink and her ex husband own Englsih Bulldogs and Pit Bulls who we know is at the top of the PETA kill list.

    It does baffle me.

I found this on their website (peta.org)...

“Does PETA believe that people shouldn’t have pets?”

The earliest fossils that resemble the bones of modern dogs are about 12,000 years old, so we know that humans’ fascination with domesticated wolves began at least that long ago. About 5,000 years ago, Egyptians became the first to tame cats, whom they used to control the rodent population. Since then, the breeding and care of cats and dogs has exploded into a love affair, a sport, and a booming business. This international pastime has created an overpopulation crisis, and as a result, every year, millions of unwanted animals suffer at the hands of abusers, languish in shelters, and are euthanized. Adopting a cat or dog from a shelter and providing a loving home is a small but powerful way to prevent some of this suffering. The most important thing that animal guardians can do is to spay or neuter their animals and avoid buying animals from breeders or pet stores, which contribute to the overpopulation crisis.

Nice PR, but the fact remains that PETA really does believe people shouldn't have pets.  Remember that case of the shelter employees euth'ing all those dogs rather than rehoming them...and IIRC the PETA president has said more than once that he disagrees with pet ownership.  (He also doesn't feel any particular connection to animals, by his own admission.)

Peta is a bit careful on their website. However Ingrid is another matter and they have got to soon learn that having her as their VP is going ti eventually do more harm then good. LOL she prides herself on being radical

As much as I hate to say it, I was once a strong supporter of PETA; but after learning about much of their hidden policies and beliefs, I started to distance myself from them.  I especially lost all faith in PETA once I read of their pet ownership feelings, and their thoughts about 'banned breeds'.  That took the cheese for me!  I find PETA demented in their beliefs and twisted.  To say that riding a horse is cruelty to the animal and causes suffering??? To say that the Vick dogs should be euthanized, because they can never be completely rehabilitated, and should never be given the chance, in case they 'turn'???  To say that no one should own a pet??? Indifferent

I heard of someone who was showing their dogs one weekend, and a bunch of PETA supporters rained down on the day's fun.  One of the protesters ran over to a lady's table and grabbed one of her dogs, while it was still in the grooming arm.  Needless to say the dog was almost choked, considering the protester panicked and dropped the dog, leaving it hanging momentarily.  How was that protest helping animals?

I also have read that Newkirk, when she worked at an animal shelter once, used to go to work early in the mornings, just so she could 'spare' as many animals as possible and euthanize them???

Seems to me that PETA's policies are that you have to hurt animals or kill them just to 'save' them?  Nutjobs.  They make me sick.Ick!

And I cant't think of a better time to then OPEN said umbrella.... That woman is utterly crazy.  What gets me is the way they stand around outside schools handing out leaflets to impressionable kids.  YUK.  THAT is utterly tasteless.

the thing about kids though. they're doing what many parents should be doing.... educating.

thats the dangers of sending your kids out into the world unarmed. if you dont teach them then SOMEONE will.

our kids need to know where their food comes from. they also need to know that not all animals suffer horribly before they are butchered for the supermarkets. if a kid is used to seeing chicken in a plastic wrapper for the first 9 years of their life, and then suddenly someone thrusts a picture of a bloody mangled chicken hanging from a hook in front of them.... yeah thats going to shock and frighten them!!

these simple things we take for granted, grocery shopping with the kids, are very very important. most parents are too busy worrying about their kids begging for junk food or toys while shopping that they miss a prime opportunity to educate their kids.

by the way i dont know about anyone else but i couldnt read the article. it locked up my computer for a few minutes before saying it was unable to load.... so if someone could kindly cut and paste the article i would be much obliged.
