    BSL - British Columbia

Does any know if there any groups already in existence in B.C. monitoring BSL? Guess I'll hit the net and see what I can find out.  All info welcome.

I don't think BSL has hit BC yet. Just Ontario. I know there are talks about it here on the Sunshine Coast but again, it's just talk.  Something tells me that the people here won't let the law get that far. Here's hoping.

You are correct oranges81.  We sure hear the threats over here too.  I hope it never comes to having to fight the legislation.  I went onto the net this morning and punched in BSL British Columbia.  Lo and behold there are some breed sites that are prepared and monitoring things.  I couple of my buddies and I are going to take out memberships so that we are not behind the eight ball and can help out locally if the need arises.

That's a good idea. I'm a dog trainer here on the coast so I'm usually up to date on the happenings. Lol.  God knows I've fought enough fights here to help stop BSL but it only goes so far. Sad

One thing we did here was to ask our legislator to file a dangerous dog law that prevented BSL.  It's been three years and they haven't passed anything yet. Dogs are a hot topic everywhere.

Here on the coast, there's already a dangerous dog law in effect.

Can you be more specific oranges81?

If a dog has been reported more then 3 times for biting, then they are considered a dangerous dog and must be muzzled while out in public. Doesn't matter on the breed. The only problem is we don't have enough cops to deal with the people who aren't following that rule. My roommate being one of them. His dog has been reported 4 times but refuses to muzzle his dog. He's been reported but there isn't enough man power to deal with it. *sigh*
