Talked to the shelter yesterday. Weimer's been adopted. They will in no way think of giving up the rottie to go to a shelter. ANd my shelter only deals directly with their local pound to pull animals. I asked how long she had, and he said "oh her time's not near up". I said your website says the dogs have "days" Again the same reply. I said "how long does she have" His replyy, oh she has a good while. She's really good tempered and obedient. ***! I went by to see her today thinking $55 not bad to get her into my shelter where it's clean, they have heated floors, they go for walks. Although when I talked to my shelter they said be very careful of her temperment or they won't take her. It is a rottie and they already don't take pits or ambulls.
Anyway, guess what? The shelter where she's at is closed. They are open 18 hours a week, mon wed and fri for 6 hours each. they said the "officers" have to make so many calls they can't be open more. Funny, when I called about 2 dogs on my road, they said they don't come out for that. A pit bull running loose form the neighbors and a dog who seriously tried to bite you when you go by. What calls are these guys making?
I am seriously thinking making my time off work's project trying to have this place overhauled. it is a new place, and just the most shameful shelter/pound whatever I have ever been in. There is someone over them and someone else who has a voice int eh local government who doesn't know what is going on there, or better said, what ISN'T going on there.
