    Stopping Puppy Mills

The stop puppy mills website has a slightly different address.

    http://www.petshoppuppies.org/

There is a video of a HS investigation of the link between Petland and puppy mills. And all the Petland employees recite a pack of lies designed to ease the concerns of the consumer. They will make statements flatly contradicted by USDA complaint reports and legal actions of the USDA against faulty breeders. As well as the video report from the Humane Society. Not that Humane Society has had the greatest press.

At one point, I was able to submit information about Shadow's purchase, the listed breeder, etc. No reports anywhere found on him. The conclusion matched my own. That a byb or hapless redneck had either an oops litter or thought he would get creative, only to find that no one wanted to buy from him a "designer" Husky/Lab. He may have given them free to the pet store who are professionals at extracting money from uneducated consumers. That is, there are some rednecks who might not buy from a parking lot but if the dog is in a store, well, that just makes it all better, then, doesn't it?

On the upside, if there is one, it's likely that Shadow did not start out in a puppy mill.

I watched more of the videos. Downright threatening behavior from Levi Graber. Concerted actions of deceit. All of the breeders and brokers now list the very same p.o box as their address and the USDA does nothing about it. And the people are hiding behind their amish status as some kind of holy badge. I justed puked a little.

I didn't realize until recently how big the Amish are in commercial dog breeding and yeah it makes me sick too.

Here's a myspace page. Scroll and watch the videos, particularly the dog auctions one. If you have a Petland store near you, try to organize a peaceful protest, or check to see if any organizations are doing one and join. We need to see an end to this sadness once and for all. I remember telling people about puppy mills many years back (I'm talking like 40 years ago, when I was a teenager) and here they still are around and still people are buying from pet stores. Although we did have a break, in our area, for several years when we didn't have the large scale selling of pet store puppies, but now it is back again.

Ron or someone show me how to put in a link. I used to be able to do it, but haven't figured it out yet with this format.

We hosted a 'puppy mill awareness' day at petsmart a few weeks back - the event was very successful. A lot of people just don't realize what goes on beind closed petstore doors. Lots of information - plus first hand pictures from inside a local puppy mill.

Erica, that was a great idea.  Exactly the people who need to be reached.

There ya go. What I did was copy your addy then open a new window and pasted into the address bar. Once at the page, I copied the address from the address bar and pasted it in this reply. In the future, you can do the same. That is, while in this forum, click your browser button to open a new window. Go to the page you want to link. Then copy the address from the address bar at the top and paste it into your reply here.

    Trying again

Try it with your eyes crossed.

It's either that or you may html disabled somehow. You might check your profile options and see if there's an "advanced" button you can click on.
