    Vick-tory!

I hope it's true that Vick never returns to football. He's getting what he deserves!

Getting just what he deserves! What a nasty and horrid man. I have to think no NFL team would pick him up, the backlash from the public would be too great. Talk about not filling your stadium... who would want to go see a team that signed a dog fighter?!

Did you read what Joey Porter of the Miami Dolphins said? http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/football/story/780242.html Ugh makes me so mad! He's a jerk.

Yeah, that's crazy!!! Rocks in the head for sure!!! Bastards......

Can't we just turn some Pit's lose on him, shock him with a cattle prod(thats just what they usein my area), and starve him? Lather, rense, repeat! hehehe.....Stick out tongue

I don't think any animal-loving person would say No to him being put thru what those dogs wew put thru...

I hope you are right but I am cynical when it comes to professional sports.  It's all about the money and they will forgive just about any crime if they think a player offers them a shot at a winning season.

The best he can hope for is one of those extra leagues like XFL or WFL. The money is not nearly is good and NFL and AFC are still the leagues to be in.

What if it could be proven (not by me, I'd just as soon see him rot in hell) that he has reformed and seen the error of his ways? What if he did a series of SPCA ads? Could he then return to pro football? There are people who do rehab from the bad things they did that got them in prison. Not always, but sometimes. For example, there are kids who killed someone while drinking and driving. After their bit in hell, the honestly pursue talking to other kids about the devastation of teen DUI.

Ron, I still ywouldn't trust him within 30 feet of a dog - no matter what he did.

Ron, I am in complete agreement that someone should not be punished forever for a one time occurence, especially things that are done when  youthful judgement is not too good.  What Vick did was not a mistake like driving drunk and having an accident.  I doubt anyone convicted on vehicular homicide set out to kill an innocent victim, they used very bad judgement and someone else paid the price.  Vick chose to fight dogs and he knew it was illegal and he knew it would cause horrible pain and suffering.  I don't think you or anyone believe that what he did was a case of poor judgement or an accident. I think Vick is like a lot of thugs who get caught and express remorse.  They are sorry, sorry they got caught.

Amen! You have to admit - he was trying to plead 'Not Guilty' and then suddenly he's 'oh so sorry'?! That's fishy to me. And, I would never trust the word of a dog fighter. If someone can't at least be a semi-good pet owner.....what kind of treatment will ppeople get by this person??

And I would easily agree with except for play devil's advocate. As I said, I would just as soon leave him locked up.

One coworker used to be a meth-head and went to prison for identity theft (passing stolen checks to get drug money.) He has turned his life around.

Another went to prison for manslaughter (which was actually self-defense). After prison, he has kept his nose clean, got out of the situation that required such a drastic measure and hasn't killed anyone since.

These are guys that have changed their lives and actually used their time in prison to better themselves, studying, learning a trade, making life decisions that will keep them out of prison in the future.

At the same time, I agree, that my friends did not show the callous disregard for life (even the guy who served for manslaughter was not happy about it and certainly regretted what he called a hasty decision in a bad situation) that Vick has.

And I understand very well the feeling to not forgive Vick. I was raised with my mom's saying, adapted from a motorcycle club. "May God forgive you because I won't."

. "May God forgive you because I won't."

Everytime you quote your Mom, she get's higher on my Totally-Cool-People list. Seriously, awsome way to look at things.
