Wolfie the GSD Needs a Home!!!

Wolfie needs a forever home. I am fostering him. I picked him up today from a backyard where he has lived chained to a carport post for pretty much all of his short young life. He is about 11 months old and has a very friendly disposition, he is getting along with my dogs and my kids and has not shown any aggressive tendancies at all. He has been under a lot of stress today and everything is new and wonderful to him.

I have pictures under my profile.

I saw the pics....he's so handsome! I bet he finds a great home very soon...he seems an excellent candidate and surely loads of people would be honored to have him!

I saw the pics too!!  Too bad you are so far, we have a great rescue here.  He does look cow hocked and weak pasterns, but who cares he's not a show dog!! (and still, I saw a terribly cow hocked, weak pasterned GSD go best of breed at a big AKC show). I think he looks great. Big Smile

I spoke to her on the phone and we are going to do it ourselves. I will be heading up to Colorado in the morning. It is only about 4 hrs give or take so rather than try and get a truck driver my son and I are going to drive him up! Wolfie and Hektor are not getting along well today and I am having to keep them in seperate rooms unless I am right there. Today one stayed in the house, one in the garage and one outside (Gunnar could have stayed with either but he thinks it is just plain wrong if he is not allowed to stay in the house) then it started raining buckets so we are alternating who has to stay in the crate, Gunnar is free and Hektor is in crate and then Wolfie goes in crate and it is very hectic and crazy LOL.

Rather than take a chance on something bad happening between Hektor and Wolfie (it is all Hektor ) we felt it better to just move him now. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow as I am directionaly challenged at times. I am hoping to end up in Colorado and not Texas LOL.

Wolfie was awesome at the vets today. He rode well in the car and was friendly and happy with all the dogs he met as well as the vet. She says his legs are fine he is just a little cow hocked. He has loosened up a lot since we got him and is moving much more nicely.

Thanks a bunch for all the help!!! You guys are awesome!!!

Your the awesome one, you took a dog, chained up outside, of a breed that is known for needing people and your giving him a brand new start on life.

What did the vet say about his twig and berries? I too noticed that the twig was hanging out a bit.

Have a safe and wonderful trip, I am glad we found a foster so quick for this boy.

Just read your post over there, so ignore the twig question.

As for squating while peeing, Kord still does this too, I tend to think it is more learned or taught than known.

It has been confirmed that he is in possesion of two testicle. Everyone is puzzled as to what the previous owners think "neuter" means but unless he use to have 4 and they only cut off two he is unneutered.

And for those who did not read the post on the other board the twig was out because he had just returned from a humpfest with my two and was still a little excited.

Vet also says his legs do not look that bad to her in comparision with other GSD's she see's. Mind you I have no idea how many GSD'd she sees and whether they are well bred or not but he is moving well and seems to be very happy. He is a great dog and my kids are already crying and we only got him here yesterday. My 13 year old is begging to play hookie tomorrow and ride with me to Colorado.
