    They need Shoe Boxes....

After taking 93 animals from a home where they were living in terrible conditions the Spartanburg County Humane Society realized they had a growing problem, nearly all of the female dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs are pregnant.

It's been a day since those animals came to the humane society, and after better assessment, we now know that almost every female of every species brought here is pregnant, which is a bigger problem.

On Thursday animal control brought in 93 animals from a home on Douglas Lane near Duncan.  Dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs were all in pretty bad shape.  Workers at the humane society spent the last day caring for the animals and cleaning them up.

Some of the animals had to be shaved completely because of matted hair, some have respiratory infections open sores and wounds.  And to add to that 68 of the females are pregnant
The woman officials say is responsible, Rhonda Aulicky has been charged with three counts of animal cruelty.
Aulikey could pay close to $1500 in fines if convicted on all counts.

And, officers make another animal cruelty bust Friday afternoon.  This time 21 small dogs, mostly poodles were seized.
Animal control officers say the dogs were in some of the worst condition they'd ever seen.  Officers say the dogs had been living in their own filth for quite some time.  At one time officers say the dogs' owner lived in her car while the animals had the run of the house.

Isabell Snow has been charged with three counts of animal cruelty.  The dogs are now at the humane society.

I know they said on the news they are looking for Shoe Boxes  for the Guinea Pigs to be born in...I guess they said they are ideal for them when they are being born.. Don't know I  just know they need them...  So maybe if you are Close by to SC someone cold help out...

Maybe someone could donate coroplast to make bases for guinea pig cages since they really would need areas larger than shoe boxes. Coroplast can be found at sign shops (and sometimes at Home Depot) for relatively cheap depending on the location. If you create the sides of the cage high enough, you could avoid the extra cost of grids since this is temporary housing anyway. See here: [linkhttp://cavycages.com/]http://cavycages.com/[/link]
