    NFL/Vick article o' the day!

I am not in favor of hunting, but how does that compare to fighting dogs and cruely treating them for months or even years on end?

I am sure many people eat meat provided by so called "Humanely killed" animals, does that mean if one enjoys a steak they would enjoy fighting dogs?

I don't do either, by the way[;)]

I think the author's main point was the comparison of the country's reaction to Vick's disgusting dog fighting vs. reaction to the player that not only killed a woman while drunk driving, but conitnued to drive drunk and got off on a technicality.

Both offenses are sickening.  But I can see his point.  I feel that all of these players get away with too much.  Everyone screamed and yelled about Paris Hilton (I am not a fan either), but when it comes to sports figures I think even more people turn a blind eye and they get even more special treatment.

Right...the Little issue was stomach churning.
Far beyond the hunting he opens with...reading the article further points out flaws in both the NFL's conduct policy...and fan/people's reactions to one sort of an offense and not another.

What I say to that is what my Dad would always say.....two wrongs don't make a right. Just because there wasn't as much public outcry with the others doesn't mean there shouldn't be with this.

We must be careful in our quest to become an animal loving society...that we don't also become a people hating one.

I am also not in favor of hunting as a sport in any way. When my sons were small and we used to camp.. on day we took them fishing because 6 yr old son Ronnie got a fishing pole for his birthday..from his aunt and uncle that used to fish.  We caught one fish...and didnt think to throw him back in the water,,,we brought him back to the camp grounds and asked everyone around if they wanted it. Of course no one wanted ONE fish...   We wasted that fish and felt so bad that we never went fishing again.    However,,, I was horrified that both sons took up "Hunting and Fishing" in high school as a class.
Yes,,,I do eat meat...but don't let me think about it too long...because I really hate that we kill animals to eat. [:o]

I think what these article tell me  is that what ever the crime that anyone performs...they should be prosecuted and punished. If Paris Hilton, Michael Vick, Rae Carruth or anyone else does something to break the law, they should be treated no differently than you and I.
