Sky News dogs and cats used for furr

This is very very upsetting.(please don't read if you are easliy upset)
I didn't know if i should post this as i don't want to upset any of you as your all so lovely, but i need to vent as i can't get this out of my head as it has really upset me.

Yesterday morning (6.00am) i put on Sky News to see the weather.
Was still quite sleepy so at first i didn't understand what i was watching.
They had a German sheperd on there wagging its tail (im thinking their talking about a rescue place) so i keep watching, the man talking over the film says," tail wagging looking happy but little does he know he is about to be brutally slaughted for his fur" then you see some man dragging the dog down and i switched over crying my eyes out and feeling very sick, turned back and they were saying dogs and cats are getting killed for fur and that they are dying the fur to make it look like faux fur (spelling??) and people are buying it not having a clue what they are buying. And this is being shipped everywhere. Heather Mc cartney is warning people about this and is trying to stop it or something.

It's all i can think about, i couldn't eat yesterday i felt so sick and angry.

Did anyone else see this???

I must admit i have faux fur (not real fur) fluffy coshions and i have got rid of them now and i swear i am not buying anything that is fluffy again.

Did find the link on the web. Looks like this is an issue in Europe, (both the fur trade itself and the consumer) right now...and from what I listened to it's now been banned. They have concerns now about telling the fur from true faux or true allowable fur sources.

I was half asleep when i was watching and just watching that clip of the dog really upset me.
Good to here its been banned now, im not even brave enough to look on the web page.
Im from England so im not touching anything fluffy.

I know over here that we have a problem with fur products coming from China that are using pet fur.

Minor correction. I think the most recent USA thing was in reference to Raccoon Dog fur being listed as "faux fur" The Raccoon Dog isn't a pet but is I believed farmed like mink in Asia. there's a bit of debate whether they are canine or more related to other species..or is simply unique.

Think it was Dillards or Macy's...some chain that was selling the fur under 'faux" and got into hot water.

This still goes on daily in China, and some of the major clothing stores in the US still sells those products. They skin the animals while they are alive, by the way. If I am not mistaken, JC Pennys tooks some of the coats back and relabeled them so you couldn't tell that it contained dog fur. Companies like doing business with the Chinese fur suppliers since there are no animal rights groups in China.

yes they do skin them alive!!
It's just so cruel!
