IS 10 YEARS LONG ENOUGH?

I didn't see this posted in the usual places, so if i is elsewhere, excuse me, but i think this is so awful.

I am on AOL and when i turn my computer on it comes up AOL news and this morning it popped out TEENS GET 10 YEARS FOR PUPPY ABUSE. So i had read it and Life wouldn't be long enough for these two sick-o's. Since it was copyright, i didn't think i could copy and paste so took down notes.

it was in Atlanta and two brothers 17 and 18 (one report said 17 and 1

took a 5 month old mixed breed puppy (the report said no pit bull in it...they seem to a breed of choice for torture) and put duct tape on his muzzle and "hog tied' tied, poured paint on it and tried to set on on fire. When that didn't work, they took it into the community cetner (am guessing they lived in one of those apartment complexes) and put it in the oven and turned it on. marks inside the oven show the puppy was alive when placed in the oven. They also trashed the center.

Then they showed the body to children around the area and told them they would kill them if they told. i guess one of them did.

There was the original report, and then one down in post your Comments, someone posted more information. Both boys had been in trouble before, for burglary, assult and even child molestation. WHAT THEY HELL WERE THEY DOING FREE TO COMMIT THIS CRIME?

Would you believe some people actaully posted (about 1/2% i would say) that 10 years was to long, it was just a dog, not a human. But about 99 1/2% say most serial killers start out this way and these two evil creatures would end up preying on children, eldery, and disabled before long. mot felt they should never be free considering they h ave a history of crimes, some violent. I find it hard to believe anyone could actually think this sick, evil punks should just be counsiled or spend a few weeks in jail to find out what it is like.

Actually if you read the news article carefully enough you'll notice that they'll only do 5 years for this crime, which is the GA maximum. They will serve that concurrent (at the same time) that they serve their sentence for burglary.

The sad thing is that they will only do 80% of their time, if they behave, due to prison overcrowding. Also they only need tell their cell-mates that they are there for burglary-since the names, as far as I know, were never released to the public.

What i read on AOL did give their names. one was Justin but i don't recall the other name. And when they get out they will do worse crimes.

That absolutely makes me sick!!!! I can not say what I think should happen to these monsters.....But I'll put it this way. CM says the #1 mistake people make with dogs is that they try to humanize them. I am 100% guilty of that.

This is not long enough! I read that they could have served 90 yrs! I even signed the petition along with like 18,000 other people! I guess the judge didn't care how mant people thought this was outrageous because there was an internet petition and a petition you actually had to sign! I totally agree they should have got maximum no matter how old they are! Anyone who could do this needs to be somewhere they/ everyone else will be safe and thery will get some kind of mental help after a while!

Since people who abuse animals to this extent are often the same individuals who become serial murderers, 10 years is a drop in the proverbial bucket. Nowhere near enough...

Ga's animal welfare laws suck. This is a given. Things are being attempted, but not much is changing. It's really very sad.

What about these kids parents??? They are obviously unfit. Lets look at the facts they aren't even legal adults and they already have a record.

Stories like this really upset me. As a dog owner i am responsible for my dogs actions.Why aren't the parents being punished as well? If they had had better control of their children this could have been avoided.

I defenetly think 5 years is not enough. They commited murder and torture. I am sure they heard the dog cry and scratch to get out. If they feel no remores then maybe they are mentally insane. They should be in a mental institution after jail.

I think at the age of 18 one is considerd a legal adult.
I think the parents knew somehow that their kids were renegade kids, a lot of parents just stick their heads in the sand and don't want to deal with it.

Well, they got to deal with it now.
