Yes, read it yesterday on one of the threads. It is a sad world we live in.
I was just curious why she didn't take the other dog or video it as well since the owners were away. I would have been concerned over the welfare of the other dog to start deteriating as this poor little guy did. And another question is was the food and water bucket shared by both dogs? Or did the other have it's own? And why didn't she document the other dog's living conditions as well. I know her primary concern was the helpless one, but I would have been just as  concerned about the other dog too.
I think the owners should be prosecuted for such a horrible crime and her exhonerated of all charges for stepping up to the plate.
I also think she should file charges against the jack a** who said if she had taken their dog they would have shot her in the a** with buckshot. That is a threat! Lastly, she should also file against this person for deformation of character in that they called her incompetant etc. Civil case, but she should proceed with charges to seek damage control.
That is my opinion. If I were in her shoes, I too would have stood my ground and also gone to jail.

i saw this yesterday. i think it is awful that anyone would let their pet get into such a condition as doogie. i applaud ms. grimes for taking action, and hope that the charges against her are dismissed.

You raise some good points forpaws, I wonder if she would have been in more trouble yet had she fooled with the other dog though...because at least this one she has a good reason to take it.
I do believe the person that said they would shot her in the a$$ with buckshot,,was a cop, wasn't it?  You know,,,they will all stick together,,,the police and politicians,,,,to keep each other out of trouble.    And she is probably known starting "Dogs Deserve Better" and they probably "have her number" and try to belittle her. I'm glad she stuck to her guns.  I hope that many of us can write to whoever we need to,,,to keep her out of trouble and more then that...to make a point that you can NOT treat an animal like that, nor can you treat a person like they are treating her.  If many people wrote to defend her,,, it would make fools of them.

I'm late getting into this thread.  The sad state of affairs is that people who abuse their dogs don't want them saved and cannot wrap their sick head around having pets without being cruel.  These people perceive them as property to do with as they wish and nuts to anyone else who cares.  They are backward bullies who should not have pets to begin with, much less children.

Tammy Grimes took her life in her hands to get this dog out of this horriffic hellhole that was his world. I would do it in a heartbeat.  I have been rescuing dogs from the streets and shelters for 20 years.

I agree Dyan. I wrote a few myself along with calling. When I called I got the run around with them. But that is ok. I still made my point and sticking to it.

I would have done the same as she and have done so in the past. Lucky for me though the people were not interested in keeping the dog nor did they want him. I paid $$$$ to get this dog back on his feet and the AC people would not file against them because I stepped in and claimed the dog as mine.

You are correct in saying police and politcians. UGH

From a rescue  point of view... the other dog was not in immeadiate danger and his neglect could have been addressed at a later stage... he had shelter, water etc.. under those circumstances it  would be hard to do anything for him as the law stands.
Doogie however was different, he was in danger of dying  and would have  had he not recieved medical treatment.
Tammy slipped up by  not getting a warrant as it is, but she is willing to take it on the chin for that, what  is so wrong in all of this is the owner/abusers have not been charged.

Flip, you are probably right in the immeadate danger catagory.

I commend this woman for standing her ground and support her efforts to be excussed of all charges and to put BLAME where it should have been in the first place... right back on the owners.

I agree!  She probably would have been in more trouble had she also rescued the other dog also. She would not have had the excuse of it dying as she does with Doogie.  I'm sure more people would have turned against her and thought she was a "head case" had she rescued a dog that didn't need to be rescued at this point.
Shame on the people that did'nt come to the dogs rescue,,shame on the people that let the owners of the dog get away with letting that dog live so sick like that, and shame on the people that went after the person who saved the dog!!!
We all need to make it known that the world will not accept this!
