    The Weirdest Story

[sm=banghead002.gif] Well, ok. I've had 3 dogs and 1 cat. My first dog was a beagle named April. She was the cutest and the most playful dog, I loved her. Until one day when she ran up the road (because we live below a slanted hill) and was hit and killed by an 18-wheeler truck. I wasn't here when this happened but when I found out I cried forever. My second dog was a Spitz named Max. He was really white and fluffy, but one day he was in the road and my grandma's son-in-law was driving up the road and then he caught Max's foot, so my grandma rushed him to the hospital. She said that most dog's don't let you touch them when they are hurt, but Max did.[:D] That's why she loved him the most out of my 3 dogs. He died at the hospital. My third dog was a Miniature Poodle named Andy (Andre';). He was black and his previous owner had beat and hurt him. So when we first got him he was scared of us, but he got used to us. One day, somehow someone left the door open to outside and he got out. My grandpa was right out there, but he didn't see him. So we don't exactly what happened to him, but we think that he was chasing a bird, or butterfly up the road was hit and killed by a vehicle. But that's what really make me mad is when someone hits (and kills) your dog how they don't even stop to say I'm sorry!! And there's something else Andy was killed in the same spot as April. Don't you think that's ironic? And just recently, my black cat named Harley was killed somehow I don't know. But I feel like there's someone or something that's stalking me and is killing all my beloved pets. But please if you find out about these mysterious things, then please tell me.

The "mysterious thing" killing your pets are cars.  You can avoid these by either fencing in your yard or keeping your dogs on a leash, or an appropriate dog run.

I would guess that it's possible that the driver of an 18 wheeler would not even be aware of hitting a dog in the road.  I have to agree strongly with Xerxes - if you're planning to get another dog you really, really need to find some way to keep the dog out of the street.  Either put up a fence or hang a leash by the door so the dog can be leashed to something before the door opens.

You said you know they got hit by cars so why do you ask what "mysterious" things are killing them?  I hope if you decide to get another pet you will be more careful.  How many times before you change the situation to ensure their safety?

    Im sorry for your losses.

    ditto what everyone else said.....

There is no 'mysterious' thing killing your pets. To be blunt it is your irresponsibility as a pet owner that is killing them.

If I had a dog that was hit by a truck you can bet I would be super paranoid with the second one and take extra precautions to make sure it never happened again.

As a matter of fact I LIVE in a very busy main road and my dogs have never gone in the road, they have never been off leash when outside.

If you live in a highly populated road take care of your animals and dont allow them to run free. I had a Shih Tzu who I took everywhere with me and she was always off lead (I was a kid and very irresponsible) but she never drifted from my side, sat when we were crossing streets, etc. Get some training on your dogs so that if they ever do escape they dont leave your yard.

If you do this I can guarantee there will be no more 'Mystery' killings

Wow, that is a big mystery.  When you figure it out, maybe you can work on who shot JFK, and why I always lose a sock in the wash.

Get a fence, a leash, or a clue.

    Why do I bother...[:@]

Don't worry folks; school's almost back in session...

Get a sturdy fence and some common sense.  If you can't do that, don't let them out unless you're there watching them.  Crate them when you're gone during the day if 'the doors accidently being open' is a problem.

Our Springer Hawk, recently started testing his boundries.  We found him walking on the road.  You can bet he doesn't run without someone watching him anymore, and he won't get true 'free' run until we get an underground fence.  Even then we'll be keeping an eye on him 'till we're sure that it works properly.

Do it, and mysterious deaths go *poof*.
