Oh no! That's so terrible.. [:(]

Is there anyone you know that you trust to take care of her?  A family member? A friend? Anyone? At least then you could still see her, and make sure she's happy.

I'm so sorry.. that would be heartwrenching.

How long do you have before the move? Perhaps the Pom rescue can list her in the area, and you can pick the new owners yourself? Then they would know how much she means to you, and there's still a slight chance you could keep in contact..

This is a long shot Liv, but could your doctor write a note or script saying Missi is a therapy dog for you because of the things you've gone through and she helped you with those. Try it you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

My heart breaks for you, I am saddened by this news. But am crossing my paws tightly in hopes something good will come of this.

I'm not to sure, the owner of the location is going to contact me between now and monday. After that I think it will only be a few days. I want nothing more than to still see Missi, she is everything to me. I'm hoping the Pom rescue will contact me by tomorrow, and hopefully give me some options as to what to do[:(]

That is why I said go to your family physician who can write a script in that saying this dog is your therapy dog and with out her, you may suffer ill health.

Edit to add, NOT your vet your Family Physician. The vet would be of no real help here.

How would they know you have two dogs? What if you "re-home" her for a day or two, then bring her home?

Oops read your post to quickly forpaws. I'm pretty sure my doctor would do that. But what if they say then you can't keep the other one?

That is a good idea ron and something I'm definatly wanting to try. But I'm kinda of scared it will risk us having our house. I suppose its worth a try anyway. I guess they cant do anything worse than what they have already told me.

One is a therapy pet or rather service dog the other is a family pet. The landlord cannot tell you to get rid of the family pet because it is only one dog. The other is a therapy service dog and is not considered a "Family Pet"

I don't understand.  You bought a house that doesn't allow dogs?  I understand that can happen with rentals, but if you OWN the new house, who has the right to tell you whether you can have 2 dogs there or not?

And you are just finding this out now?  Whoever is making this decision didn't tell you that BEFORE you bought the property?  Did they put that term in writing and you agreed to it before the sale?  If not, I'd fight it and/or try to get out of the sale.  It's your property and they shouldn't be able to impose something like that on you after the fact if you did not agree to it.

It sounds like a lease with option to buy. If the co-owner is holding note, I don't know how you can get out of this other than getting an attorney since they didn't tell you until today and verbally at that. If it isn't in the contract, it isn't so.

Unless it is a gated community or something (in which case you'd be made aware of animal restrictions far before signing any papers) I've never heard of being told how many dogs you can have when you are going to own your own home..

And frankly, if someone told me this AFTER I signed papers, those would be legally debated immediately. Getting rid of my pets would not be an option.  In fact, although we rent, we purposefully chose a house in a not as pretty neighborhood because of the lower rent and their acceptance of our pets.
