Great article!
A nice little stat from the Bureau of Justice:
"Cases were terminated against 83,391 defendants during 2004. Most (90%) defendants were convicted. Of the 74,782 defendants convicted, 72,152 (or 96%) pleaded guilty or no-contest"
It seems to me that the Feds have a pretty good batting average, which I'm sure fueled Vick's lawyers to plead out.
I also saw this from an NFL spokesman:
"We totally condemn the conduct outlined in the charges, which is inconsistent with what Michael Vick previously told both our office and the Falcons," the spokesman said in a statement."
I have no idea how the NFL feels about animal cruelty, but I do know they don't take kindly to being lied to and having their players involved in betting. Even if they don't ban him because of the animal cruelty (which they should), I hope they nail him to the wall for being the arrogant, spoiled, liar that he is.
