Toilet spiders are almost the worst. At least with a shower curtain spider you trap it momentarily in the curtain while you leap past. There is only one thing in this world that is worse than sitting down only to look up and come face to face with an enormous spider on the wall that you somehow didn't notice as you entered the cubicle, and that is being trapped in a moving car with a giant spider running around. In all seriousness, they cause car crashes. Everyone here has car spider stories. I know people that have had them drop onto steering wheels, and I've seen them run across a car roof only to leap onto the driver of all people. I have been in the passenger seat screaming and trying to get a big scary spider off the screaming driver. Getting it to crawl onto something and then throwing that something out the window is the favoured method.
If you get the spider to crawl out the window, you are so not safe. They cling to the car and inevitably end up hiding somewhere like in the crack of the door so that when you open the door not only is there a huge spider looking at you, but it's running into the car where you know it will hide, be impossible to get out, and then it will wait, maybe days, for the most dangerous moment to emerge and then there'll be the terror of being trapped in the car with a giant spider that is running around and might at any moment leap on you and trying desperately to avoid crashing the car until you can find somewhere safe to pull over and deal with it.
My childhood was littered with terrifying car spider incidents. Can you tell?
