We had something unexpected come up yesterday, & we didn't get home until almost 11 last night.  I was tired when we got home, & just wanted to get the dogs fed quickl.  I made the mistake of feeding the dogs kibble/premix, because I didn't have their normal food defrosted.   Bevo had HORRIBLE gas.  The smell was so bad that it woke me up numerous times during the night.  Eventually, I tried to kick him out of the bedroom.  For the record, it's pointless to kick a dog who can open doors out of the bedroom.  He just lets himself back in.  Confused   To reward me for kicking him out, he came back in, hopped into bed, & sat on me.

    I love that dog....

Haha Amanda, I just love rebel dogs. When Kord has gas...it clears a room.

Now, for more pleasent stuff. I had over a doz eggs and a gallon of milk to use up. So I made egg salad with the eggs, and for dessert we have............

I used all the milk thank goodness. And that tomato pie I made last night was delish.

Time for a tea and smoke break.

    Glenda...you be careful!

Hope the drama gets resolved Amanda.  At least there's some comic relief, in the form of Bevo.

We're in good shape as far as being stocked up on water, batteries, food, etc, and I filled a couple 5 gallon bottles in case we lose power and need to flush.

We are fortunate that we have the RV, ready to roll, should we need to leave, and also the ability to use our generator out there should a power outage last any length of time.

why is it.... after a breakup... we make the men better for the next woman, but us women are made somewhat worse?  They wear me out, man!

Ah...I do believe we actually are a little smarter, stronger and less naive for ourselves...just trickier for the next man that comes along...its a pact with all woman kind.

Speaking of Sunny (aka sunshine) she is barking right now at some phantom person, object or nice right now!

How did I miss this?  Is Sunny a new foster, new dog?  Another Aussie?

I completely agree and some men aren't much better after the breakup, at least not in the longterm.

We had a great day today!

Watched "Spies Like Us" on TV today...haven't seen that movie in 15 years.

BF **finally** got the (faux) wood blinds put up in the living room today.  I swear, they make the windows look completely different.

Then we took the dogs to the river this afternoon.  I wish I had a video camera.  There were these 2 ducks that were hanging around us....seriously, I thought they had a death wish.  But someone was watching over them.  Harry couldn't have cared less about the ducks; all he wanted was for us to throw his tennis ball into the water so he could swim after it.  Sammy was running around the woods when the ducks first showed up, but he came back a couple minutes later....with a turtle he'd caught.  He dropped the turtle in the water, so of course it swam away, and he was so distraught over his turtle that he completely ignored the ducks for probably about 20 minutes.  Once he realized his turtle wasn't coming back, he finally focused on the ducks, but he will NOT swim, so they just taunted him for the remaining hour or so that we were there.  They would swim close to us, then Sammy would run out, and they'd just swim away.  Smart little ducks; they figured him out quickly!  Both dogs had a great time, though.

Just got back from BF's hockey game.  He's such a goon, lol.

Maybe when I was younger that was true, but lately, I personally feel a little more depleted.  At least my words were taken to heart and the men do something about making themselves better partners for someone else.  Most of them I'm glad "got away", truly I am.  I just get disgusted that I don't feel any better, but instead worn down, like a stone against the sand and waves.  It makes me angry at them, and myself.  No

Well we're back. We all survived. Thanks to anyone who sent "Willa behave" vibes. They lasted about 20 minutes. Stick out tongue

Paige - You are going to find someone amazing and you won't have to do all the work to make them that way. I know the last few years have worn you down, but I also believe you've had to have learned a lot about yourself on the journey. It will all pay off someday soon.

Jan - glad you made it there and back safely. I specifically sent "Willa be good for the duration" vibes Confused

Paige, I think that you feel so worn down because you did invest so much of yourself into your last relationship.  I hope that you find closure or whatever it is you need to move forward, & realize that there's no reason to feel angry towards yourself.

I totally agree with this 110%.  Paige, when you least expect it ... when you're not even looking ... someone absolutely amazing is going to come into your life.
