Mindless chatter hump day

Paige, something will come up job-wise.  And slightly belated happy birthday!

I think most of our computer server transition is over for the day.  All my favorites and a bunch of my files (pictures) went into outerspace, so I'm going to have to figure out that.  I'm not terribly computer literate - mostly a functional user.  Oy...this could take a while.

 whew I am so wiped out these days - physically and emotionally - longing to feel wonderful!

Bugsy is carefully chewing a 4.5lb beef leg bone - it took him ages to decide to chew it.  He is so weird. He won't touch it with a paw either, only his mouth

We are in a cycle of high heat and humidity and vicious storms.  Already had one pass through after lunch but clearly another is coming. 

That is all must find some more energy to get this a bunch of things done

If my day wasn't bad enough, my fuel pump went out on my Expedition at lunch.  At least I was within blocks of my mechanic.   I left it on the side of the road and walked down and gave him my key and got a ride back to the office.

My day was good!  It was warm and sunny.  I took Coke to meet DH's "kids" over lunch, then took him home, then got myself Taco Bell. 

This afternoon I re-certified for CPR (now called CCR) and AED.  I got 49 compressions in 30 seconds with no watch or metronome, woohoo! (50 is the best, 47-53 acceptable).  I always re-certify because I have this fear that my boss or my dad is going to have a heart attack.  I've run the scenario through my mind several times, like me finding him in his office having a heart attack.  I know where the AED is in our building and I've used it before but now the instructor wants us to memorize where ALL of them are on the entire campus and have our own metronomes for next time.  They also make this new personal CPR device that I want but it's $125.  He said to wait b/c they will go down in price and eventually be able to give a shock in v-fib so it will be like having our own AEDs in our purses.

 My work is getting very busy and as I've ranted before - the other girl is useless!  My boss has decided to let me take files home to work on though and is paying me for it.....so woo. I actually don't mind being busy - it makes me feel important. hahaha. 

 Fiance and I are going out to dinner tonight with some friends - but only to Swiss Chalet.  As much as I do love their chicken - I don't know if you Americans have Swiss Chalets? - Their chicken is delicious!   I would like to try some new restaurants in town.  Unfortunatly our friend has some weird eating habits - fast food she loves but fancy fine dining food - she doesn't like.  She hates vegetables, beef, and fish.  She is very hard to eat with - usually when we hang out with them we just order pizza.  

I am ready for the weekend already!  We are going to his parents house on the lake - only they are not there so we have the "cottage" all to ourselves!  It is finally warm enough to swim here so we will go out on the boat and hopefully the old rope swing is still in existance.

Me too!! I'm usually not lucky enough to be near a mechanic though. Definitely sounds like a good night for a cool beverage with high octane

DH is now "researching" a street bike on EBay. I can see where this is going and wondering where in the garage he's planning to put it. To say he has a lot of toys is a huge understatement.

Jackie, I'm sorry that your day is going so badly.  Fingers crossed that tomorrow is a better day for you.

We did a little school clothes shopping today.  One kid is easy to shop for because he has to wear uniforms this year.  The other one doesn't have to wear uniforms, & we'll leave it at "he's a bit more challenging" to shop with.   I think that I may let DH deal with finishing off the shopping....

Jackie, that totally blows, but I'm glad you were in a safe enough place to get your car taken care of and you were not alone on a lonely busy highway.

Amanda, I can only imagine how hard it is buying clothes for boys who have opinions about what they will and will not wear.  How old are they?

So, later today, two more sets of vehicles showed up and parked in the front - one on the grass w/a van and trailer, the other in the driveway.  I am so sick of random people just showing up to do unknown work that not even the landlord knows about.  Like  minutes after the first crew left, I heard scratching next to the house, so I go outside and .... it's the LANDLORD trying to scale the fence to see what the gas company did in the backyard.  Um... do you know there's a doorbell?  And, do you know that women really don't take well to men trying to peer over their fences??  Ack!

Thanks for the job wishes, guys.  I gotta get it together.  Life is very boring without work.

OMG I know. I was out of work for a week and I thought I was going to go insane, but everything I saw that was taking applications didn't interest me.

Amanda, just say the word and I will be on the next flight to Texas to be your nanny/housekeeper/dog-sitter. My BF is making me very pissy and it'd serve him right if I left for awhile and let him see how hard he'd have it without me!

Is it wrong to have Nutty Buddies for both breakfast and dinner? Keep in mind I had wings and french fries for lunch. I should probably have some water or fruit or something...

I feel really weird this evening, I have this anxious, impending doom feeling.  I'm not sure what it is....nothing stressful coming up....it's like I forgot something major, or made some kind of mistake, but I don't think I did....
