at Kohls I always find something on sale that I need, even if I didn't know I needed it till I saw it. Wink

Surprise, surprise, me too! I managed to find several things to spend money on and the sales were amazing. I was feeling pretty funky when I got there but I was cheered up when I left.

I got the Lexus SUV as a loaner car and man, that is a nice vehicle. Maybe they'll need to keep mine overnight and I can keep this one a little longer.

Iron, huh Callie?  That's a thought.  My iron levels were fine a few months ago but the heat can likely deplete the heck out of that too.  And, it was REALLY humid here yesterday until it started storming, so I'm guessing that might have had a lot to do with it.  So what?  Now I can work between 6 and 8 AM IF it isn't humid???  Sigh.  Guess days I want to weed I'm gonna have to give up my walk.

But, I'm keeping in mind that only July and August are brutal and some relief will show up in September........

Oh my god, I am going to explode.

When I left my old job my ex-boss made it very clear that she'd be happy to give me a good reference, blah blah blah. I dropped off a form for a job I'm working on, at a special-needs daycare, and all they wrote was 'Persuant to company policy, we can only verify that dates of employment and title are correct''. I've seen these people write PAGE LONG recommendation letters for people, and I get one FRIGGEN SENTENCE. All I have to represent the FOUR YEARS I spent there is one sentence.

It's BF's b-day, I'm hitting the margaritas hard tonight. A wise woman once said, 'Tequila soothes all pain', or something like that.

Try late October/November. Keep in mind, I regularly serve Thanksgiving dinner outside. Sorry glenda :(

We should add that to the list. Naps cure everything and tequila soothes all pain Big Smile

Sorry about the job reference or lack of. That really stinks and I'd be ticked off too. Is it possible to ask someone else do write something up?

Me neither.  I'm definitely a wine girl.  I was coming back down our street with Max this morning and I hear this yapping and growling.  My neighbor was out front with her dog (a very old, very overweight doxie that used to belong to her mother) and I swear that dog has fantasies of being a young rottie. Big Smile He came running toward Max and I just said to Max "Old dog, Max.  Little dog. No jumping, no barking" ... and he laid .. down ... right ... there and let the little one come up and sniff. I tell ya, I was impressed.  I'm still not really comfortable having him around much smaller dogs because I'm never sure if he completely understands the difference between small dogs and squirrels. I think I'm going to head off to Costco in a few minutes.  It will probably be a zoo, but I'm sure the day before a holiday they'll be handing out amazing samples.

Not without being super-sneaky. I have a ton of college prof's, and elementary school teachers, to write me letters, but it still was a mean thing to do.

I soooo want to air all of this place's dirty laundry - they have one of the best rep's as a doggie daycare in Central Florida, but I know a TON of what goes on that clients wouldn't be thrilled to hear. Too bad I'm not that horrible.

Meg, I think that your ex-boss needs to be beaten around the head & neck area.  That's just me though.....

My housekeeper was deported yesterday.  I am devastated.  Sad

    For real?

I did try to water in the baggy thing and it didn't seem to do much good. Maybe I will give another try though.

I am noticing a heck of a lot more things in my yard today besides the gazillion birds: wasps (good for the aphnids!), butterflies (yay), fireflies (also good) and then of course the pecky house flies. Pretty soon I'm going to have my own wildlife refuge going on here.

Amanda, I will move to Texas, and be your housekeeper, so long as I can bring Pirate. Your dogs are awesome, the boys sound like a blast, and I'm pretty sure your DH is a keeper. All I need is a small salary and enough time off to finish my degree :) I could even multitask and tutor the boys, & take care of the dogs while you are out of town!

    Mmm, chocolate.

Ohhh, I'm definitely a beer girl.  But then again, I'm a born and bred North Carolina redneck, ,lol.  I do enjoy wine from time to time, whites only.  Riesling is my fave.  I just can't get into reds....room temperature beverages is a complete turnoff for me.  Oh, one of my faves (and not expensive!) is the Biltmore Estate Christmas white table wine.  Yum-my!!  I used to have my mom order me some online every year and I'd pick it up from her when I came up to NC for Christmas, but now Georgia lets you order wine from out of state.  Woohoo!!  I have 3 bottles right now.  Even though it's called "Christmas wine," it's good any time of the year.  Trust me, lol.

Amanda!!  OMG about your housekeeper!  That's awful!

Kohls...I can need absolutely nothing when I walk in there and find 10 things I never knew I needed.  I love that store!

It sounded too good to be true, but I was hoping it'd work. We haven't had a big fly problem yet but I've sure seen a lot of spiders in the house lately. None have been scary big, so that's a relief.

I was really tired, so I took a nap. I was comatose for over an hour and now I feel zombie-like. I hope drinking some iced tea will help.
