get this... i was arguing a little while ago with my husband (all in fun really, we do that alot) and i said "The day i get rid of all my dogs is the day you sell all your cars and drive a VOLVO! (he hates volvos)" he said "Harumph! i'll go sell all the cars right now and go get a volvo!" he knows he's full of it.. mister mustang... then i said i am actually wanting another dog anyway*hinthint*

he had no comment except "HUH??"
 lol and i wasnt looking directly at him, so i dont know if i got a dirty look or a "you must be crazy:" look

Wow.  You brave, girl!!  I adore this GP we're fostering and the last couple days I been thinking, 'you know, I really miss having a big dog in the house.  It feels so much homier.'  I think if I told him he'd make me sleep in a dog house outside!!  []  No no no no.  Must not tell hubby I'd like to keep doggie.  Must not mention it at all!!!

lol thats probably why i'm wife #4 for my husband. if he stood up to his ex's they always got divorces... stupid issues too, like not wanting to move to vermont or have boyfriend's on the side [8|]
i gotta admit though.... he is a city kid lol and now he lives on a farm in the middle of BFE..... i dont see any perfectly good reason NOT to get another dog.... having only TWO is weird for me.... i never had less than three at a time my whole life. -but he has never had more than one at a time for his whole life-
And i am still a little cheesed off about Cindi the stray. that dog ate EVERYTHING and chewed up everything else and he loved her, wanted to keep in the house!! but did he want to HELP break her of those things? nope. she was his buddy.. but when my cousin brings Bo, her dog, to visit he wont allow him in the house for more than a second.... so i'm still scratching my head over this....
its starting to sound more and more like "its my decision so its ok" on his part..
gonna have to have a talk with that man soon [>:]

I was talking to DH last night about Bert the Tripod Coonhound and I said, "good thing he's in Canada!" and DH laughed weirdly and then it became clear to me that in his head he'd gotten Petfinder and Dogster mixed up and had no idea that Bert was for adoption, so I cleared it up for him. He blinked. Then he said, "Uh, yeah, good thing he's in Canada because I don't think it would have taken you very long to convince me we should adopt him."

Eep. But no. No no no no, no more room at the inn. I just have to keep telling myself that. With a stable group of cats and dogs it's hard to remember the rough times at the beginning every time we add an animal. No. Nope. Can't. Not now. Dammit. Why can't I be independently wealthy and just stay home with an ever-growing pack of dogs all day?!?

EDIT I Just want to Canadian Hound Rescue's website to moon over Bert and to look at their other hounds and OH MY LORD! They have bloodhound x weimeraner sisters! There are some seriously, seriously, SERIOUSLY amazing hounds that they are fostering right now. (1) I've never bought a pet (2) I don't at the moment have $350.00 (3) From my very confused phone call I'm not convinced this woman is not a breeder - if I do go I'll ask a bunch of questions (4) I'm not sure my Hahns would appreciate a Severe (5) Did I mention the not having $350 for the next couple of months at least?

Paula, i was looking in the pet adds last night in the local advertiser.. someone is selling their pet quaker parot, cage, toys, food and all for 150... i automatically thought of you when i read that  ad...  [:-]

they say doxie mixes.. but they look pure bred except for being an odd colour combination... one of them they say would probably be best without small kids.... that leaves me out, even though my son is amazingly gentle for a toddler (he had his own kitten when he was a baby, which was an accident. i was only keeping the kitten so itwouldnt go to the pound. i was supposed to find it a home, but it settled right in with my son, now they're inseperable)

yep. VERY fortunate that my husband has the car right now... and the car seat. otherwise i would be piling everyone into the omni and going to GA right about now....

You are not helping!  LOL, at least with regards to the quakers - they're not my favorite type of bird (I'm a macaw whore), and they're illegal in PA on pain of death.

yeah i know i'm no help at all in this area..... if i hear someone is looking for something then i look too... and usually find it for them lol i havent yet decided if thats good or bad in regards to helping people find animals.....

oh, at the local wild life rescue they had a maccaw. this guy had to give it up because it HATED his girl friend. every time she came around it would scream at her, or try to bite/attack.... the staff were all joking that maybe he should have kept the bird and found a new girl friend [:-]

I think Quakers are pretty destructive when they go feral so different states have restrictions ranging from out and out bans -like PA - to restrictions like wing clips, etc.
