Good thoughts please - update pg2!

Max went missing late last night and is still not home. It's been almost 24hrs. Some "go home" vibes would be much appreciated Sad

He got out of the garden. We don't know how. I was in the bath and DH was making us something to eat and he let the dogs out.... and got distracted (as men sometimes do). When he went to the door to call them back in, Max didn't appear. I should be mad at DH (who knows that Max is a houdini and needs watching, even when the area is apparently secure) but he seems pretty crushed by this. We are just worried and want him to come home. Thank you to all for your kind thoughts.

Max, GO HOME!!

I'm sorry Chuffy. I know how it feels. Just after putting up our fence, I let Coke out one night, then went to change my laundry, got distracted and remembered to let him in. Except the gate was open and he was gone, who knows how long. It was very dark, raining and foggy, and we live about 1/3 mile from one of the busiest streets in the state so I never want to get him excited or he thinks it's a game and runs toward that road (5-6 lane, super busy road). I was so depressed and knew there was no point in even looking in the dark.

Gosh Chuffy, I'm so sorry. I'm an optimist about this kind of stuff though and just feel certain that he'll come running home or somebody will find him. Does he have ID tags on?

This is the worst part - he has ID tags on his collar but he wasn't wearing it at the time! DH doesn't like the dogs to wear their collars all the time and frequently takes them off when they are in the house.... Provided the collar is comfortale I don't see any reason for it to come off! I'm SURE if he had been wearing it he would be home by now.

He is neutered and he is chipped. I have a strong suspicion that he has been taken in by a kindly old lady in the neighbourhood who doesn't know what to do with him. I am reasonably confident that he hasn't been in an RTA, because the area we live in.... I think we would have heard about it. It is my worst fear though.

Come home Max. We've got some prawns waiting.
