Mindless Chatter - Thursday 3/19

Today is a migraine day. I've had it all night so I didn't sleep well. I took 2 imitrex and it is only dulled it a bit. I'm debating on whether to go to work or not.

I have a doctor appointment this morning, routine.  I may stop on the way back and wash my filthy car.  I am not overly fussy about a clean car but I'm really disgusted with the way it looks.  We had a little fog this morning but nothing like the other day.

Somebody smashed something into the passenger side of my car when I was at the mall last night.  I didn't even notice until I was trying to switch lanes on the turnpike and went to look into my side view mirror and guess what . . .  no mirror !!  It hanging halfway down the passenger side door connected by the electric cable, and there's all these little yellow scratches on my black car.  My boss told me the electric mirrors are a b*tch to fix and expensive so I reported it to insurance.  Now I have to ruin my day and go get 3 estimates.  So thanks a lot to the moron who did this and couldn't even man up enough to leave a note or something.  Sheesh !

Happy birthday Ron!!!

Nikon bit my finger REALLY hard last night, I'm hoping it doesn't get infected.  It was not his fault, we were playing tug and I was holding the end of the tug instead of the handle so he CHOMPED down on my finger with all his might, even countered his grip instantly so I got a second even harder chomp in the same spot.  Ouch!  I was paralyzed for a minute in pain and he just looked at me like "what? sorry..."  It did bleed and now there's an oozing hole on my finger, lol.

I had the WORST sleep last night, not only did I have trouble falling asleep, but when I was finally asleep, I woke up at least 4 times last night hallucinating at different times and they were different, one of which was even with my light on, and i drew some picture to show someone, i actually found a pen and piece of paper to draw on!  Then around 4am the dogs were having what sounded like the indy 500 up and down the stairs outside my room! and well, i got up at my usual time of 5:20 and am so tired now!

So my filling turned into a cracked tooth, turning into a crown resulting in two hours in the chair yesterday.  My jaw is in total pain today.

Last night I had dinner with 13 other women, all waiting moms or "just got back" moms.  It was fun but the few of us with no children yet were kind of overwhelmed with all the baby discussing.  There is a reason it's usually just the waiting moms in our group.

At least DH got home last night....

Isn't it amazing how inconsiderate people can be? I can't begin to imagine doing that to someone's car and then just driving away. I'm neurotic about my car and always park far away from everyone, and on an end spot, if I can find one. I've yet to get my first door ding and I figure the extra exercise is good for me.

I'm tired again today too and I feel like my brain is scattered all over the place. I woke up 3 times last night again. DH comes home today, so hopefully I'll sleep good tonight.

I put beef stew in the crockpot before I left. It was more than I usually make, so it almost didn't all fit in there. DH has whined that there isn't enough meat in it when I make it, so I almost doubled the amount this time.

I have a hair appt at noon, so that'll break up the day and I'll feel and look better afterwards.

Happy Birthday, Ron. It's absolutely gorgeous out today. I need to go to Home Depot again and get a very long drapery rod. I had the painter take down the blinds that drive me nuts because they rattle every time there's a little breeze, but I have no drapery rod ... and actually I have no drapes either.  I guess I'd better order some from somewhere. Fortunately the slider only faces a fenced back yard.

Got an email back from CIB in OKC, Ok. It didn't help much, just directed me to the page I had already been to, which does not give the cost of license application. I do know the exam is $88 and you have to go to either OKC or McAlester to take it. I'm not sure I can afford such expenditures right now. And you have to have the license app in before you can take the test. And I have to go back to previous companies to get documents of experience to qualify at least 4 years to get unlimited journeyman electrician. Just so that I could drive to Durant, Ok every day, which isn't that bad. It's not as far from me as downtown Dallas is, for example. I've seen postings in Ennis, Texas and Wise County, Texas. Wise County is west of Tarrant county, way out past Ft. Worth.

I've got an emailed resume and a call into tradmasters, a tradesman temp agency, and they are supposed to call me back. I put in at another company that had been subbed to us on the big high school but the guy that reviews that stuff was not in.

I'm not sure if and when the company I was working for might call me back. The owner is scrambling every day to get more work and you never know, something might come in. But I'm not holding my breath and I have been sending apps and resumes every day since Tuesday afternoon. And stopping by the house to check emails.

DW is going to cook moroccan style turkey breast this evening and that will be great. We've had it before a few times. We plan on seeing "Knowing" this weekend.

Ugh, like a couple others on the forum, we might be having a neighbor issue.  We're getting our back yard fenced in next Tuesday.  We've already had some things done that needed to be done before the fence can go in, one of which was getting the property boundary corners marked.  Well, our back yard is actually much larger than we ever thought!  We have our two neighbors on either side, who are totally cool about our plans, and one who's back yard meets ours, who's also really cool about it (in fact, last week she invited Harry over for a playdate with her dog!).  Well, because our yard is bigger than we thought, there's another neighbor involved.  Part of his back yard meets part of ours (maybe 10 feet or so long adjoining our two properties, nothing huge).  We don't know this guy, but I'm starting to think he's peeved that part of what he has been maintaining is actually not his property....it's ours.  So my nice neighbor back there tells me yesterday that this guy told her there was a buffer zone and we couldn't put our fence all the way back to the property line.  So I told her I was going to call the county and inquire.  I first called the company that did the surveying for us, and there is a buffer zone, but it's for tree removal/vegetation only.  So I called the county, and they said I could, in fact, put a fence back there so long as the fence doesn't disturb any trees.  I think BF should go over there and talk to this neighbor, nicely, and let him know we'll be installing a fence next week.  That may go a long way in preventing him from calling the county to file a complaint.  If BF does that (I want BF to do it cuz he's better at schmoozing than I am), I know he'll bring up the buffer zone, so then BF can explain the ordinances to him.  If he files a complaint, we'll be okay, cuz we're within the regulations, but it'll still be a PITA.  Nothing is ever simple, I tell ya!

i do the same thing when i am driving a newer car. i also think that the extra exercise is doing me some good. plus i cant stand the people who lurk around the parking lot trying to get one space closer to the door. especially when the block the drive isle waiting on someone to pull out. there are 1000 other spaces you dork... just park. :D
