Let's hear your opinions! Usually I think these shows dogs carry too much weight but most of the hound type dogs look pretty good so far. Especially the american fox hound. That dog was in great shape. Nice to see

I have a BIG BIG thing for PBGVs, so I loved seeing that one in the Hound Group.  I like the look of the Bloodhound though.

    And...

    (the judge is deciding)

The Deerhound!  The judge likes her big dogs, the Wolfhound is second.

I loved that Bloodhound. I would love to adopt one someday.

I'm recording and watching at the same time. That deerhound really did move nicely, but I am clueless on what would win in most of the breeds.  I think they are all just beautiful. LOL  Terriers, wheeee!

WTH.  Why would you enter under a Judge that you had a conflict of interest issue?  Were the handlers hoping the Judge would forget?  What would have happened if one of those dogs had won?  Any show people care to explain?  I've seen this happen in Field events a few times and it is usually a case of a handler being sustituted at the last minute or a last minute judging change. I wouldn't think that would be the case here.  I would be really upset if I owned one of those dogs that was excused.  Educate me, please.

From how I understand it, the handler considered it an honor to win BoB at Westminster, and knew that he would be excused before even going into the ring.  I think it was just to show the audience what a great Airedale it was, despite the fact that the handler couldn't show under Peter Green.

I don't know much about the backstory between the handler and Peter Green, it sounded like the handler used to work in Peter Green's operation?  Perhaps the dog's owners didn't want the dog handled by anyone other than that handler, and I certainly hope that the fact that the handler would get excused was discussed with the owners.

And I LOVED both the Scottie and Charmin.

Yay, Non-Sporting.  I heart my fluffy dogs, and I love the Eskie, Keeshond, and Chow.

    Tibetan Spaniel is nice too.

Yay - me too!! That Chow was beautiful. I just wanted to squish my hands in all that fur. I also love the Shiba Inu.

Standard poodle, yes!  Frenchie, yes!!  Two of my favorites. That Chow was just gorgeous, what a beautiful coat.

OMG Herding is coming up.  My husband teases me, but I almost always end out crying over some beautiful dog in either the Herding or Working Groups (or both!).  Collies and Shelties are two of my heart breeds, so I always seem to get all emotional over seeing them.  Tomorrow night, I'll probably be fawning over the Malamute and Siberian.

Oh I'm sure they were all aware it could happen.  But you don't KNOW you're going to make it to group.  I assume it's a huge honor and accomplishment to win the breed at a show like this.

Liesje - While watching the herding group, it seemed that the only dog that they had stack was the German Shepherd. Was that just my imagination?

All the dogs are beautiful but I hope the Tureven wins. He's gorgeous.

     THE COLLIE WAS THIRD!!!  Woohoo!

Cute Puli, I felt bad when the handler got missed when she went to do the gaiting pattern.

I soooo wanted the Ebenezer, the PBGV, to win the group.  We know his owner, & it would have been cool to see him win.

I am in love with Bedlington terriers, & Old English Sheepdogs.  I could never deal with those coats, but still...

It's snowing...in AZIndifferent so snow packed on the satellite dish, thus making it not work and not record the broadcasts. So, I have the last two hours rerecording on the rebroadcast tonight and then the first two rerecording tomorrow morning.  Stupid snow...

I did watch the Chow breed competition online, though, as Aesop's breeder was there. They didn't win, but it was nice to watchSmile
