BAD bad bad situation -Callie's 'dog in danger' scenario

Yikes. I feel really sorry for that dog being lugged around like a toy. Sad I agree that the situation can't end well. How could it when one of the family members hates it, no one wants to do the work and there's a child being allowed to man handle the puppy?

But when someone asks you for advice and then doesn't even bother to read the email OR Answer the phone when you call??  I want to slap them (but sh*t splatters and this is enough of a mess already so ....)

I'm sorry you are having to go through this. You know how it's going to end. They didn't listen to you before, why should they listen to you when you will, no doubt, try to help them train and manage this dog? As for the child - when I was a child, my mother had no problems telling us no. It does a body good. She knew of Dr. Spock's work. Don't discipline the child or tell him no, it might give him a complex. My mom's thought was, good, every kid needs a complex or two. So, maybe I have a complex or two. But I also have manners, believe it or not. And a sense of responsibility. Something their child may or may not learn.

Still, I don't see anything good coming out of this because the wife hates the dog, no matter how much the husband loves the dog. The dog will become an object of contention. And the kid will get bit and the dog will get pts. Once again, for the sins of humans.

But I'm sending you a big hug, anyway. Fed-ex.

I'm getting all sorts of "positive" emails -- *sigh* The husband is mega in love, and of course the child is thrilled.  I'm still concerned it will last a couple of weeks and as soon as the honeymoon is over ... *sigh*

But the rescue has assured me they will take him ... whenEVER.  And as annoying as it is, I figure if she's still emailing me and talking to me when it all "hits the fan" maybe she WILL call me ...
