    Poseidon

Oh my! He is gorgeous!! I love this picture!!!

That's one of my favorites as well, it's just a shame that the tips of his ears are cut off!

I can't wait until the hair on the top of his head comes back completely. He's going to have permanent lumps and bumps there just because of the way the vet had to close the head wound, but they shouldn't be visible.

I was touching the top of his head today and I can definitely feel bumps and divots there. That's okay, he'll just be my lumpy bumpy old man!

A couple more pics. First up is an unhappy sulky conehead:

About two weeks ago a sweet lady kissed him on the nose. Poseidon says "Lipstick kisses are great!"

    • Gold Top Dog

Poor baby!  I know you prolly told us some where but what happened to his head?

    He's got the sweetest face.

    • Gold Top Dog

What a handsome dog! That lipstick kiss is funny!!

    • Silver

I mentioned it in my intro, but I'll mention it here as well since I know not everybody reads those things. He got attacked at the dog park about two months ago by a dog that outweighed him by 30lbs. He had a ton of stitches in his head, and the vet initially thought his skull was punctured. That turned out not to be the case, thankfully. He also had a drainage tube and lots of stitches in his throat - the dog almost got his jugular. Ironically enough, the other dog's name is "Happy."

    • Gold Top Dog

Wow. Indifferent How terrifying. I'm glad he's ok. Do you know whatever happened to Happy afterwards? Did the owners help with vet bills?

    • Gold Top Dog

OMG!  Poor Poseidon!  I hope that Happy's owner is helping with his vet bills.

If I wore lipstick his forehead would be covered red lip marks.  He's sooooo handsome & his eyes are so sweet.

    • Silver

Yeah, she's taking care of the bill. I went to the dog park the next morning to show her the pictures and give her a copy of the bill (of course she was there again). The people I know who used to see her often haven't seen her lately, so either she's stopped going or has started going to a different park.

    • Gold Top Dog

    what a handsome boy!! =]

    • Gold Top Dog

     WOWOWOWOW!!! WHAT a looker!

    • Gold Top Dog

Talus is very very jealous of Poseidon's bully stick...Where do you find them...?

I'm glad that Poseidon is doing better....he's a beautifully handsome dog...

    • Silver

That particular bully came from PetSmart, you can get the 36" in either a single or a double package. Nowadays we just get them at our dog food store (not that length though). When I go buy dog food the store owner always gives us 3 or 4 of the 12" bullies. Poseidon's not a big chewer, so they last quite a long time.

What a beautiful dog -- those eyes!  They're mesmerizing!  I'm so glad he's healing well -- that must've been so scary.  A few scars and bumps are okay, as long as he's healthy and recovered.  They're just places to give him extra kisses (not that you need an excuse, with that handsome face)!!!

His lipstick stain reminds me of something.  I used to work where I could walk through a retail area on my lunch hour.  One store had a pair of Bulldogs that sat at the door, and I often stopped to pet them.  When I first "met" them, I noticed the one whose fur was more white had pink stains on top of his head.  I wondered what it was, until one day the shop owner was near the door when I walked by, and when I was chatting with her, she kissed them on their heads several times.  She was a "brightly dressed" lady with very pink lipstick, so I then had my answer to the stain question!  Their names were Ho-Ho and Princess, and they were clearly very loved!

What a drop dead gorgeous dog. He is a stunner.
