    Canine Chondrodysplasia

Chondrodysplasia punctata (often referred to as CD) is the name given to a group of
multisystem, metabolic disorders of skeletal development, primarily characterized by
mild to moderate growth deficiency, short stature, and bilateral or asymmetric shortening
and/or bowing of the legs. (Chondrodysplasia means, literally, "faulty cartilage”,
and punctata refers to the punctate calcifications seen in the epiphyseal cartilage.)
Chondrodysplasia is considered to have a genetic basis. Different forms seem to have different modes of inheritance; some forms are autosomal recessive, some x-linked recessive,
some autosomal dominant, and some x-linked dominant.

[sm=huh.gif] I'm sorry but I have NO IDEA what you are talking about... O.o

i do. its a text book explanation for the deformity of these bulldogs. this line and the gotti lines and some others are "line bred" ... fancy word for inbred .. and it was done for the express purpose of making them shorter and wider and weirder..
in one video on youtube the owner or creator  of the gotti line mentions outcrossing. he did NOT say if he used just pit bulls in the crossing or other breeds like french bulldog or staffy bull... i would say he used both staffy bull and frenchy because both are short and one has the bowed legs. there just happens to be enough pit and staffy in there to keep the tail looking normal.
i would even go so far as to say he used english bulldog. but this line is only as old as 1997, and not all of them are breeding true to type. some look more frenchy, some look for english, and some look.... deformed as all get out....

Have to say they aren't my cuppa'. I think I recall this line causing a ruckus every time it's mentioned on the UKC lists tho...lots of people seem to feel really strongly about this "type". I can't say I blame them much...

all i see is history repeating itself in the same manner as the English Bulldog. give them a couple more years and you will have Rosa and Crib all over again.

I consider these dogs "the real ones". I saw these dogs in real life, met the breeder, met the owners of the dogs bred by the breeder, met the pups, etc.

Here are some of their dogs...these pictures are pictures I took at the pit bull show with NO photoshop editing whatsoever. You can also see on the website these dogs are the same and real.
all of the dogs except 2 or 3 were from this breeder.
So here are the dogs from Victorinos Kennel...

These dogs were at the show and from a different breeder...these dogs are also true pit bulls

i like those dogs but a couple of them look far too big. they LOOK to be the size of my American Bulldogs.... but my bulldogs are Scott/Williamson working lines.. not the big Johnson block heads.

but the dog with the trophy looks WAY too tall for the standard. but that could just be a trick of the eye. i'm going to check out their website now.

i liked the dog in the blue harness lol i just love that "two-face" look [:D]

I like the big head look (not too big, though...), and at least it's better than some breeders. (If I were to get a pit bull from a breeder, it would most definetly be from them). I met them and the dogs and they are excellent. And the dog isn't actually that tall.

The dog with the blue harness is Jesse James, he's a total sweetie [:D] Such a gorgeous boy...and he just loved teasing his owner...it took her like 5 times to get him going, when she said "Work" he'd just stand there and look the other way like he was deaf...LOL he was suuuch a goofy boy!!!

She was a puppy and always running around crazy. I had to catch her while she was still. She was chewing her leash and I snuck up on her. I called" Me-sha!" (her name) and she looked up and I snapped the pic. =]
