    Mindless Chatter - TGIF

Oops hit the wrong button before I even posted.

I brought Neiko to work with me today. He loves coming to work with me and he's always on his best behavior. Although right now he's trying to nudge his way in to my lap from under the desk haha. All I see is one eye and a nose poking out from under my desk in to my lap.

I stopped and bought a super good coffee on my way in then I left it in the car and I had to park the car a mile away because they are painting our parking lot this morning! So much for the good coffee. I got 1 sip!

Today is going to be somewhat hectic. I have to get everything ready for the frisbee contest tomorrow. I need to go and stripe out the field and rope it off. Gotta make copies of the score sheets. Load everything in the car, etc. I have a friend coming and my house is a disaster again. Oh well. She'll understand.

Tomorrow should be a lot of fun! I'm sooooo nervous though. This will be the first time I've ever organized a frisbee contest and I'm stressing! Send me *everything goes smoothly* vibes please!

I'm debating if I should bring a kiddie pool for the dogs to wade in. It's going to be 76 tomorrow and sunny. All the dogs will probably be pretty hot. The problem is, how do I fill it up?

    Smooth like silk vibes!

My cell phone is broken, arg. It still *works* but the screen is all grey, so I can't text or see if I missed calls or anything. I was going to go get a new phone, but my paycheck isn't deposited yet (I have direct deposit) and I have a feeling I'll have to pay for a new one. AT&T is a major pain!

I have a major sinus headache and my ears hurt so bad! I really hope today starts to go better.

Julie I think your disc event will be a smashing success!!! Everyone will have a blast.

Does the event facility have water access? Drinking water for dogs? If it has a pump or spiket, just bring a hose. Of course I went to a Petapalooza event several years ago, hundreds of dogs and NO WATER available. To get drinking water for your dog (or yourself) you had to buy bottled water at $3.50 a bottle! We bought one bottle, shared it with Belle then refilled it from the restroom for her.

So glad it is Friday. I just wish it were already time to go home.

I'm not sure Ann, I'm going out there today and will check it out. I don't recall there being lots of water sources out there. Although it is on the Grand River.

Julie, I'm sure that everything will go smoothly!  We have our fingers crossed for you.

I have determined that Bevo is, ummmm, a little "off."  He has a variety of nicknames, but over the last 3 days he's really been living up to "Goob."  He hasn't been bad, just acting like a goofball.  Yesterday, he was on a roll.  He found a clicker that I had left on the coffee table, & decided to see if he could clicker train me.  He would click it, & then come running to me at warp speed in hopes of getting a treat.  He did it 4-5 times before I took the clicker away from him.  Then while I was eating breakfast, he decided to come "sit" on the couch with me.  This involved him backing his butt up to the couch, & plopping down.  While his front feet remained on the floor.  He was sitting there with a silly look on his face.

DH took the dogs to the dog park when he left work yesterday.  The dogs had a great time, but Bev decided to "play" with DH.  He refused to come back when DH was ready to leave.  He would come just out of arm's length, & dart away as DH made a grab for him.  DH called me, at work, put me on speakerphone, & had me recall Bev.  Both of my secretaries thought that I had lost my mind.  One of them, came into my office & told me that Bev hadn't came to the office with me.  It was a little embarrassing.

When we went to bed last night, Bev decided that he didn't like his place at the foot of the bed, so he wedged his way in between DH & I.  He then rolled over on his back, & became fixated on the ceiling fan.  I am definitely going to have to wear him out this weekend!

We are going to Houston tomorrow to pick up a foster.  The dog that we kept from New Orleans during Hurricane Gustav is coming back to stay with us.  Since his return to New Orleans he has been acting a bit hateful, & his foster mom has became really upset by this.  She, & other rescue members were considering euthanasia.  I emailed her to check in on him, & was shocked to hear at how he has been behaving.  When euthanasia was mentioned, DH said "they can't just kill him.  Can he come stay with us?"  I happily said yes, so we pick him up tomorrow!  I'm so excited!

LOL those stories about Bevo cracked me up.  What a character.  And I could only imagine trying to recal a dog over the phone....

The STBX got most of his stuff out last night and I started rearranging furniture and cleaning.  OMG how much crap can there be in one small place!!!  I feel kinda bad cuz he ended up breaking a bunch of his stuff.  He was supposed have come over when he got off work (around 2) and then he said he couldn't be there till 8:30.  I was mad and when he said he might not be able to get it all, I went off and basically told him that he'd get it or I'd throw it out.  (I apologized later, once I'd cooled off)  But since I said that he got angry and was moving stuff in a hurry and well, it didn't go so well.

His washer and dryer are still here and I'd really like to keep them.  He said I could pay him for them, but I've got to come up with a resonable offer.  Thoughts anyone?  They work fine but they're older.

One of the women in the office noticed I've lost weight.  Yay!

Is it time to go home yet? :o)

I would check craigslist in your area, & see if you can find comparable ones there.  That way you can get an idea what they might be worth.

I am kidsitting today. I wish they had told me the little girl had a cough because otherwise I wouldnt have said I would watch her. Or at least I could have taken care that Samantha hopefully wouldnt catch it before she got here.

Joker is a happy camper when in his crate now. I thought I was gonna have to sleep in the car the first 2 nights so I could get some sleep. He howled all night long the first 2 nights. Now he realizes it's not a bad thing after all. He has his own crate now and Lillie has reclaimed hers even though she doesnt need it except to eat.

I need some Chinese food!!! Lol. Sunday is too far away. Sunday is our eat out day. JJ quit smoking but I had to give up eating out for lunch during the week.

LOL Thanks for the laugh. I can totally picture him clicking the clicker then expecting a treat. That is way too funny.

This made me laugh the hardest though

lol They must have thought you lost your marbles!

Smooth vibes flying right away for you!! I can't wait for the pics, I'm sure it will be great!! Big Smile

OMG Bevo clicking to get treats it's just too funny ~lol~

Amanda that story about Bevo is hilarious!! Wyatt made a new dobe BFF at the dog park yesterday. They LITERALLY didn't leave each other for 2 hours...it was so awesome!

I have had some tonsillitis/ear infection for a few days now. I started a Z pack tuesday, and hadn't had a fever until now, but i have one today. I'm a little confused about it. Unfortunately, i have to work 8 hrs today, and 12 on sat and sun. :(

What a clever dog Bevo is, his antics are hilarious. Smile

Today, I have to go pick up more Orijen from a local grain free dog food store.  Honor LOVES to go shopping for her food, because everyone fawns over her and gives her treats.  I want to bring Nike too, but am a little nervous, as this will be a fairly people-active experience for him.  His fear/anxiety around people is improving little by little, and I want to keep his good experiences going.  Nike was actually interested in people-watching on a recent trip to a nearby outdoor mall.  So I hope that he will enjoy his visit to the store.  It's an added bonus that the owners are actively involved in rescue, so I know they'll understand Nike.  Here's to a good socialization experience! Drinks

    Happy Friday everyone!

I was walking down a neighborhood sidewalk this a.m. with Max and he stopped to poop under a tree  that was right at the edge of a lawn and the sidewalk.  He had already pooped once in the park, but of course since we're walking through a neighborhood he has to poop a second time. I got the  bag out to wait for him to finish then realized he was having a really hard time "finishing" because there was some long, strange thing hanging.  Paper towel.  I was surprised that he was willing to back up and let me grab hold of it with the bag.  So there's my great picture for the day ... me, standing out in front of somebodys house pulling a paper towel out of a dog's butt. Does a day get much better? Big Smile

Bevo clicking and looking for a treat is REALLY funny.  Amanda, this is not the first time you've had to shout at Bevo through your cell phone for DH.. I think you need to get a recording of it so he can use it in the future at any time he needs it.

Megan, I don't know what it is about Ridgies and Dobes, but they just seem to go together like peanut butter and jelly.  The only dogs that Gracie regularly plays with for any significant period of time at the dog park are the pair of Ridgies.

Meg and Megan - feel better!!!

I am supposed to move into my new place next week, but the roommate wants to know which room I want.  I don't understand why he needs to know NOW when we can't move in until Weds...  Meanwhile, ex's step mom and step-sister are *freaking* out with bad vibes about this place.  They both want me to keep looking for some place else - neither have met the roommate nor seen the house... but they're literally begging me to keep looking.  What are you supposed to do with that??  I *have* to get out of my current place and I know they would "put me up" for a week or so, but still!!!

I've had to call Bev over the phone quite a few times, & I've had to leave work & go to the dog park to get him once.  I will never understand why DH insists on taking Bev along when he knows that Bev is going to mess with him. Confused  DH said that as soon as I yelled for Bev, he came running, sat down, & started staring at the phone.  DH was able to snap the leash on with no issue after that.  I suppose that I should be grateful that DH & Bev get along so well now.  Bev refusing to recall is a minor detail.

Paige, do you get a bad vibe from the new house?  If not, the I say just go with your gut!
