My apologies to the I-dog Biggest Loser participants but....

I haven't tried this yet but the co-worker who sent it to me raves about it!

    5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

    • 4 tablespoons flour
    • 4 tablespoons sugar
    • 2 tablespoons cocoa
    • 1 egg
    • 3 tablespoons milk
    • 3 tablespoons oil
    • 3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
    • a small splash of vanilla extract
    • 1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

Hmm.  I'll experiment and see whether I can come up with a diet-friendly version - applesauce instead of oil and diet drink instead of the liquid ingredients (maybe a bit of egg substitute).  Not this weekend.  The kids would love this!  Cake in a mug, hilarious.

Phew, I thought someone was dropping out already!  An, evil recipe?  I can live with that.

Ooo Becca, if you can adapt this, I am soooooo interested!

     OOOHHH MMYYY GGOOODDDDD....! ! ! !

You do realise I have Every. SIngle. One. of thise ingredients in my cupboard?  I could make a chocolate cake RIGHT NOW.  Alright, so I am not actually a huge fan of chocolate cake... but still, that's a cool thought.  I am going to try this TODAY with William, we'll all share it and I'll let you know how it goes....

I'm guessing this has to be a biiig mug.... ?

    I tried it last night.

It tasted like chocolate cake alright, but it was very spongy, and Im not sure I would make it again. I may have overcooked it, but its worth a try for everyone else!!

    You're so evil! Devil Wink
Not only does it sound great, but I have my monthly "gift" and I'm craving chocolate big time!

I may have to double the recipe - I have those nice *big* Pendleton mugs, about twice the size of a regular mug, and microwave safe:-)))))

I was just thinking that if it's too spongy, maybe a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream plopped on it while it's still hot might help. Devil

Great idea... it might also be good with whipped cream, or icing....

So, how did William like his cake?   It looks WONDERFUL!

When I made it this weekend my first cake came out crap - dry/almost burnt.  My DH pointed out to me that our microwave oven is 1200 watts so I took the power down to 80%.  Much better!   I promised him I would look for peanut butter chips and make him one this week with them.
