Yet, it has spun into an off topic bashfest of Sarah Palin
This is not surprising. What is surprising is that no one has yet to spin it into a Bush bashfest. That seems to be pretty popular whenever a thread has political implications.
It sickens me that people are bashing this accomplished woman, and it would sicken me if we were bashing Biden, or Obama. When it comes down to it, her stance on abortion is not really going to mean much. Bush is also pro-life, and he's been in office for almost 8 years now. Roe v Wade still stands, however. It's such a popular idea to create a "sky is falling" atmosphere about how a candidate is going to do (insert whatever over-the-top scary scenario you wish) to try and scare people into voting for someone else. Me, I do my research, thoroughly, and make up my OWN mind. I listen to the candidates, not the so-called "journalists." And while I listen to the pundits, I do so with an open mind and then further my research. If I see or hear something I find alarming about a candidate, I research it further, because it's often spun way off-base, or even sometimes an outright lie (Bush National Guard record-60 Minutes fiasco, anyone?).
That being said, to me what are the most important issues are: national defense, reducing the size of the federal government and returning more power back to the states, and reducing federal spending and taxes. Compare the two tickets on those issues, and McCain-Palin wins hands down for me.
That is all, and please stop the name-calling. It doesn't make your argument any better. In fact, it makes it moot to me.
