Say No to Sarah - Caution, Very Graphic Video

I can't help but wonder how many of the people who are vehemently opposed to killings of wolves, & bears, as a means of population control, have ever dealt with these issues before?

The only article that I can find that seems legitimate is this one. http://www.adn.com/wildlife/story/491012.html  Which clearly states that wolves were killed because a herd of caribou were in trouble. Are there other legitimate articles out there that I am just not finding? The only other articles that I can find are from special interest groups, not legitimate new sources.

I must say that I find it a little ridiculous that people are blaming Govenor Palin for something that was re-legalized in 2003. By my calculations that would be 3 years before Govenor Palin took office. Yet, the legalization of aerial hunting is her fault. The math in this equation is faulty, to say the least.

To borrow some words from a famous democrat...this is a vast left wing conspiracy that has been conspiring against Govenor Palin since the day that she was announced as the VP candidate.

Uh yeah, I lived there.  Also lived in ME where similar issues exist.  I'm not against predator control, I'm against inhumane predator control.  Sell limited numbers of hunting licenses, collect revenues for the state with them, and have hunters travel into the areas in humane ways.  Fair hunting.  Humane hunting.  Hunting for the purpose of something other than pelts alone. My family and 5 others lived an entire winter on one moose when I was a kid living there.  Palin's not the only one who's eaten moose stew.  So, I'm not a greenie anti-hunter, but fair is fair, and aerial hunting just ain't fair.

I guess everyone has forgotten the reports from this winter of the  wolves eating household pets and attacking people's dogs while on walks in Anchorage?  I don't because I was there and watched my butt while cross-country skiing, but the reason for those attacks?  Record LOW snowfall which enabled the moose and caribou to RUN AWAY and the wolves were starving!  Who needs help in that situation?  Not the moose.

Aerial hunting isn't a dead issue in AK either.  As recently as last month, Palin's administration was taking flack for having campaigned FOR the practice in advance of a vote on the issue and using state funds to do it.  Hmm, yet another example of her using the office to get her way.  http://newsminer.com/news/2008/aug/14/campaigns-over-alaska-ballot-measure-predator-cont/

The alliance says in the last two weeks the state has twice distributed brochures through the state’s largest newspaper touting its predator control program. The group says the state also purchased radio spots that ran in the past 10 days, as well as sending Board of Game members around the state to campaign against the initiative.

“The timing and one-sided nature of the Palin administration’s propaganda are an illegal attempt to influence voters,” said John Toppenberg, the alliance’s director.

If you are trying to place blame on someone for Chicago's woes you would do better to look at King Richard and his court-o-alderman before Obama......

Oh sure, Richie & his corrupt alderman, Gov. Rod, and all of them in between are part of the old school machine.  This includes Barack, if you think it has had no effect on him, well...

This election is like one of those football games where I don't care about either team, but it sure is fun to watch them smack each other around.  I wish they would go back to the system where the winner was president, runner up was vice, wonderful system of checks & balances.

I don't think there is any way you can humanely shoot an animal, unless maybe it's a perfectly aimed shot to the head which almost never happens.  Although aerial hunting is pretty much as inhumane as it gets.

Well, that's true, and I'm no fan of snowmobiles or ATVs either.  But I know that without hunting, you'd have a really big problem with overpopulation.  I just think the playing field should be a bit more level.

In CA the polls show that record numbers of younger people (18 to 25), Hispanics and Blacks have registered to vote and that might be indicative of what's going on in the rest of the country.

You think what goes on in CA can indicate what's going on in the rest of the country? Stick out tongue

Personally, I found the video vague and inflammatory and, in all honesty, kind of pathetic and laughable for how uninformative and pseudo-dramatic it was.  (The music being among my top picks for why it failed.)  I am not anti-hunting - many folks in my family LEGALLY hunt anything from bear to turkeys to deer to whatever.  Aerial hunting as a "sport", though, seems ridiculous.  Whether Palin is to "blame" for legislation in her state that supports it is among the least of my concerns, in reality.  Her vehement pro-life stance is enough for me.

I don't really think there's a "far left conspiracy" - I think there's a scrambling on ALL sides to pin her as one thing or another.  What little record she has is being shredded and posted as a headline for one party or the other.

Thank you miranadobe for saying what I was thinking.

My reasons are not as PC..... Look I have two duaghters who became pregnant out of "wedlock" One later married and then eventually divoced her DH , ( we all adored him)the other simply has crap taste and we were all thrilled when they did not get married.

The older daughter , as I said married her Baby Daddy , and 2 more kids down the road dumped him...he was too loving and nice, treated her like a princess That was unacceptable I guess. The next hubby was a world class jerk, the hopeully final hubby again adores her and is well to do.... our fingers are crossed she sticks it out with him...

The younger daughter was pregnant 2 on BC....before any one says SHa Right....I was also pregnant 3 times on BC.  It is not 100% with anyone and everyone.

But I did not run for office, I did not try to impose my values on the nationan and I did NOT use a child as a possible hope for votes.

If I was a Repulican there would be NO wat I could bring myself to vote for this pair.... they go against the very grain of my being.

It is not the concept of haing babies as a single mom.....IT is trying to use this as the celebrities do .... also if you are knocked up I feel you forfit the teeny tiny weddig dress an the right to discuss the family values of people trying to teach the kids to wait , to understand and to believe in a future....

In this particular case, yes I do. I think this upcoming election has a lot more people excited by what's going on and interested in having their say than previous elections.  If more people here are interested in it, why would you think people across the country wouldn't be?

I am pro choice, even though I would never have an abortion (I am pretty much too old to even GET pregnant now, BTW!).  IMHO, Palin would set back women's right fifty years.  Suddenly, it's 1958!

I am also tired of old white MEN running the world.  Let someone else have a chance at it--they can't screw up much worse than W.

"Palin is viewed favorably by 58% of American voters."

"Eighty-nine percent (89%) of Republicans give her favorable reviews along with 33% of Democrats and 59% of voters not affiliated with either major party."

Someone stated "Sarah Palin is what the feminists have been angrily demanding for all these years, but they hate her because she isn't a liberal." Well, maybe they hate her because shes restrictive of Women's rights!!

And I couldn't agree more with your second statement. Let's give (lots of) someone else(s) a chance with Obama in office.

Nobody said she wasn't ... but give people a chance to learn more about what she stands for ... then we'll see.  And what does that have to do with the fact that more people are registering to vote than in previous elections?
