There is something about this picture that I love.  I don't know what it is, but its very appealing.  Congrats on your wedding.  I'm so glad everything turned out for you and that you thoroughly enjoyed your day.

You already know what I think about your pics and I swear you picked all of my favorites...other than a few at night....You looked fabulous!  I also love that one that Candace pointed out.  I think I like it b/c you are two people in love, about to get married among a sea of strangers just living everyday life, except you have on your wedding attire which makes it so neat.  With all of the difficulty of finding the right photographer, I just feel like it happened for a reason b/c he did such a great job of capturing your true emotions and you and your husband's personalitites!

Your dress was beautiful and you looked amazing.  The pictures are nothing short of stunning, they are so full of personality and fun Big Smile  Thank you so much for sharing Big Smile

Candace- that picture has an interesting story. Our photographer doesn’t like to do any “staged” photos, but in light of the fact we ran out of time to go shoot at our special park, and we were in the mad rush to get to the wedding, he wanted to “freeze” us for a few minutes so we could have some time together before our ceremony.  On our walk from the hotel to the boat, he asked us to go down to the bench and ask the people sitting on it waiting for the trolley if they would mind moving for a moment so that our photographer could get a pic of us. He asked us to just sit there by all the people waiting and for DH to sorta be looking down the trolley track… almost in anticipation of what was coming next. ;)      So we went down there and asked the people if anyone would mind giving up their spot for just a moment to so our photographer could get a couple pictures. This interesting woman,  who loved to talk and was incredibly loud,  got up for us and she talked to us the whole time. Telling us “your photographer don’t no nothing about no photography if he was shooting me in my pretty white dress and my husband in his nice brown suit by some dirty old trolley track”.  She said that “the way we looked, all dressed up,  we should be sittin in some fancy hotel, drinkin some of those martini’s with those olive thingy’s in them… not sittin there next to scummy people who gots nothing better to do than ride the trolley all damn day long”.     SO needless to say we didn’t get to do anything except listen to this woman talk and we tried to explain to her that the fact that we are in our “fancy attire” surrounded by common every day events was sorta the point of his pictures. That “we” actually stand out and look out of place in picture and so this makes for a more interesting picture.   She decided on her own that “no.… that ain’t the damn reason he is doin it… he don’t know nothing about taking pictures is all”…..LOL!!

The woman is actually the one you see with her hand adjusting her belt and a white shirt on and a straw looking hat in front of the guy with the black backpack.  We were dying.. it was very funny and a moment we won’t forget. Actually not getting the chance to take pics in our favorite park together was OK. This was such a hurried and chaotic 20 minute walk to the wedding site, but we met some interesting people and horns honked right and left for us.. people yelled for us to kiss and it was a very different, yet special time together.

Running off to a meeting, and that last post took a bit more time than I expected so I don’t have time to make specific thanks or comments to some of you like I wanted right now, but I just want to say thanks everyone for the compliments. It was a really AMAZING day. I suppose if DH and I both knew just how much fun it was going to be, despite the financial stressors and all, we would have made ourselves do it years ago.

A-freaking-MEN. I'm pretty sure that I recall hearing myself say those exact words to you. Wink Things happen for a reason sometimes Shel.

I know after dealing with several flaky photographers and/ or friends that fell through, the multiple double bookings, the liability insurance problems which stopped you from using several people you wanted, that you were really stressed over getting the "right" photographer. But all the worries were for nothing. I would say that you definitely got the perfect photographer! Billy was dead on when he helped you find him and told you 'he's the one". This guy truly captured "you & your DH" and didn't just photograph your wedding. The pics are GREAT!

And just as I said to you after first looking through all of your wedding pics, "you look stunning." You look truly happy, & I'm so glad that in the end, everything turned out perfectly for your big day.

I know… I know…I know  You and Sarah (and Billy too) were right. Everything worked out and I feel I got far better than I could have gotten if things hadn’t fallen through every time I turned around.   It is just a very stressful position to be in when you are only 2 months from your wedding and you still don’t have a contract with a photographer.

But I got the best of all circumstances… not only does he have a talent, but he and his wife were wonderful to work with and were obviously touched we wanted them to join us for lunch and more time to get to know one another that day. If they lived a bit closer, we liked them so much and they were such good people, that we would pursue getting together with them for just social time. They absolutely “got us” and appreciated the way we are and that is rare to find.

Thanks again both you ladies for the support and letting me rant and vent with all my photographer frustrations.  In the end I should have listened to you both.  Wink
