    Checking on our Florida Friends

How is everyone?   We are getting reports here of lots of rain and tornadoes in some areas!  Gottcha on my mind, saying prayers for safety for all!

    We're good here!

The storm was headed towards the east coast, I haven't heard from Megan yet.... I think she's working though - hope all is well over there!

The boss is gonna shut the office early just because most everyone else is -- it's just sloppy here in Orlando, not dangerous so far.  I'll call Megan on my way home -- Billy sez if Pirate likes rain he can HAVE it.

my brother and his wife and baby are in the Orlando area. he's a cop so he's probably going to be doing a lot of traffic directing in the next few days!

its all sunny and calm in my area - which is why i live in this area!!

Glad to hear you are all safe!

I did call Megan on my way home and she's fine.  She was out trying to help one of her dogwalking clients by putting in their patio furniture.  Pirate's in 7th Heaven cos it's raining AND Megan was kinda running to get in OUT of the rain so Pi figgered WHOO HOOO -- rain AND runnin!! LOL  Whatta character!!

    I'm here!!! I'm soaked!!!!

We didn't have to evacuate, but I did want to get most of the client's outdoor stuff away, like patio furniture and stuff. Not to mention walking dogs ~L~ Mostly it's just soggy. The worst of it is supposed to move through tonight.

ETA - ha, Callie, we posted at the same time! :)

Yeah, I got home and my internet was all futzy and I had to boot 100 times to get it to come up -- sowwy!!!

    • Gold Top Dog

Glad you guys are okay so far - stay safe!!

SAFE is not the word - it's SANE. I know, I know, I should be grateful for all the rain - but I would like to not have to go through 3 sets of clothing in a day! I can't stay dry! Not to mention my brother and BF and already starting to have cabin fever.

And lucky for us, Fay is going out into the Atlantic Ocean and then turning around and coming back for the East coast. Whoopie.

glad to hear that in the main things are okay with everyone...good call getting them to check in!

I live down in South Florida, and got through the storm fine.  Actually it seemed like the weather was windier and fiercer the day after the storm than during the storm itself.  Kirby is just glad the rain is over because he was not pleased about having to go out in between the storm bands to bathroom in the wet grass and light sprinkles of rain.  A water dog he is not. XD

On a completely opposite note, my Giant Asian mantis absolutely adored the weather.  She shed her final skin to adulthood during the night right during the middle of the storm.  Came out beautifully with nice crisp sleek wings.  I just knew she was going to do it too.  Something about the humidity and air pressure that the mantises just love for shedding.  Last hurricane I had two ootheca's hatch in the middle of it. Big Smile

I'm so glad to hear from our Flooorda peeps.  Stay dry, if possible & stay safe.

Some truly drenching rain during the night (glad I've got my new roof on *phew*), but it is a bit worrying that Faye may simply go out to the Atlantic, get stronger and swamp back on us AGAIN.  We're going away for the weekend and this is making it difficult ... not to mention dangerous for all.

Glad to hear everyone is ok, although a bit soggy.   We are having cool temps frome the North and supposed to have rain from your direction this evening.   Definately not your typical mid August day in Arkansas!   We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers
