Michael Phelps

Is anybody else excited to see if Michael Phelps makes history tonight?
I still cannot get over the mens swimming relay race when Lezak pulled it out for the win. I was so happy we won, especially since the French were talkin' smack. The mens gymnastics was awesome, too. Justin Spring is pretty cute- he kind of looks like Prince Harry (IMO)! I'm also excited to see the womens swimming, I hope Katie Hoff and Natalie Coughlin do great. Anybody know what happend to Dara Torres? I only saw her swim once during the relay, was that all she was supposed to swim?

I'm totally excited to see Michael make history and I loved when Lezak came thru in the pinch and they won gold - sooooo exciting!!!! I'm not sure about Dara but I'm really rooting for her to do well. Is it strange to say that I'm infatuated with her 6-pack abs? Stick out tongue

i am happy that phelps made history and glad that he is bringing all these gold medals home for the US team. but i have to say that i am about sick of them talking about him every couple of minutes. they hardly ever talk about any of the other swimmers and there are many who have medalled.

i think dara torres is competing in the 50m freestyle. which is coming up later in the week.

I've been following his races and he's just an amazing swimmer! The best was the 4 X 100 relay when the USA team won. I was on the edge of my seat and cheering like crazy at home!

If you "have" to be saturated in the media it sure does not hurt to look like Micheal Phelps!! From 3 yrs to 51 years the women in this house think he is toooooooo cute!!

Too funny, I do not find him attractive at all. He's got an okay body (I like a teeny bit more "meat", lol..no swimmers for me!), but that's it... the face, the ears? Not so much!

I haven't watched any of the Olympics (save the opening ceremony), but from the pictures of this last swimming thing...I really don't see how they could tell who won. They were so close...

Chelsea the ends of the pool are electronic so they can tell who touched first, etc. that's how they determine it. Looking at it I couldn't tell either, but I guess the walls don't lie.

This has been such an exciting Olympics. =Our men's swim team was phenom. Actaully I think Arron (?spel) Peirsol wa the cutest of the guys.. Such a beautifu smile. But that one race where Lezak came thru and beat tht big French guy--mos exciting race I think I ever saw in all my yeas of watching Olympics. And as for our women, if i heard right, Dara Torres did BETTER single runs this time than ever before I tink tey said she had only won bronze individual in the past adgot silver this time.

As for gymnastics, i also thought Jason Srping looked like Prince Harry, and in fact we talked about it on my family page and my sisters-in-law had thought the same thing. Also on one of y golden etriever forums. people thought that. I thought Jonathon Horton was such such a handsome young man.

And I am so proud of our girls taking gold and silver, never happened before. But I do not understand the judges scoring expecially on the balance beam. ho could the Chinese girl and the one American girl have the same score value, the America make one bobble, the Chinee girl make 5--that not only the annoucnes announced, but I could see myself--yet she scored like 15.425 to the American gils 15.225. that didn't seem quite right to me. I hope our girls can take some individual golds in the singles events starting tonight.

I have always adored watching the Olympics!! This was the firstsmall amounts year I got to watch them with my grand kids. They were only into at a time but then they would race away and try to Play that sport... Yep the dad and g'dad were "thrilled" when the boys watched the floor exercises for our women's team and then pranced about the front room trying to mimic what they had just seen !!

They truly enjoyed everything they saw and more importantly to us they were excited about our country doing so well !! That means a lot ot us as parents, grandparents and plain old Americans We decorated everything . And found a great chance to talk to the kids about how great our country can be ..... GO USA !!

Oh interesting! Well that's good to know, because honestly, I saw these freeze frames from the very end, and it looked like while Phelps was still moving toward the wall, the other guy was already there. But I guess it just looked like that, or he hadn't touched yet.
