I'm back! Thanks soo much to everyone! I kept reminding Tyler over and over not to forget to post. LOL. Don't forget Dog....don't forget Dog... He's funny.
As for the "perfect", I think that's a matter of opinion. It seems to be the general consensus though. My doctor agrees, I'm not sure I do. I was admitted at 11ish in the morning. They hooked me up to the fetal monitor and I had to lay there for an hour making sure everything was good. The blood pressure monitor kept pumping up on my arm every 10 minutes and I swear it got tighter and tighter each time. But I survived. Around 1 pm they put the cervidel(sp?) in to induce labour. That started contractions almost immediately. So I sat in my room for an hour with that thing in, again hooked up to the monitors, then an hour without the monitors and then I was allowed to get up and walk around. At about 5:30 I was 3 cm dialated, and the same about a half hour later. My doctor broke my water then and things took off. Everything was pretty much a blur after that. I didn't get much for pain meds. I did get a few shots of Fentinol(sp?) which gave me a nice buzz. But it really did nothing for the contractions. Basically it just let me relax between rather than finishing one and immediately just anticipating the next. Anyway, when it was time to push, I think I pushed 4 times and she was here. I had less stitching than either of the others, yay! And from that point on, yes everything was perfect.
I might add that I love love love my hospital. I had my own private room with my own bathroom. I had a shower and a sitz bath and a little kitchenette with a great size counter that doubled as a change table. I don't think I waited more than a minute the few times I buzzed for a nurse and I chose to come home today. I could have stayed for another night or two if I felt I needed. Kelci stayed with me the entire time, leaving twice for weighing and a newborn screening while I showered and took a sitz bath(lifesaver by the way). The did offer to take her for the night had I wanted them to, but I didn't. Nobody pushed a bottle or a soother on us. She took to nursing like a fish to water, but there was tons of support waiting in the wings if she hadn't. And so for that part, Tyler is definitely right. My hospital stay was perfect.
Kelci is delightful. She has cried all of twice, once after her bath cause I wasn't quick enough doing up her jammies, and once because they poked her heel for the newborn screening. Other than that, her noises are little squeeks. She has a little lizard tongue that refuses to stay in her mouth, LOL. And she wiggles constantly unless she's asleep. She also stayed awake for almost 3 hours after she was born, it was crazy. Kali and Kale both love her. Kali sees her toes and screeches "Teeekoh" and tickles them, then she laughs like crazy when Kelci pulls her foot away. We've got to do a bit of work on "Gentle" with her though as she's almost put her nose through her face a few times making sure every sees that her baby sister has a nose. Crusher is beside himself that there is a new baby here. He's the same as he was when Kali came home.
In any event, I came to post pictures, but someone in his infinate wisdom took the memory card out of the camera and never uploaded the pictures. I'll have to do it when he gets back I guess, but I promise I will get them up. Thanks again everyone for the congrats and the well wishes even before I went in. You guys are great!
