I don't care where they fall on the political spectrum, just wondering about how things would work if military was privatized and the gov't contracted out to companies like Blackwater.

Blackwater employees get paid quiet a bit more than the regular soldiers......based on that the "Private" military would cost tons more........never mind about equipment and vehicles, jets, tanks.....so on and so on.....besides, who would be in charge?

Ya know, you may not want to admit it, but conservatives need liberals just as much as liberals need conservatives.  Balance y'know...otherwise we're just communists.

I am glad you do and that would help you for a short time if you ever had to really experience a commi life style in a communistic country........after a while you might lose your sense of humor.....

I think most liberals have a very distorted idea of what communism is all about in the countries where it has been applied.......

Blackwater is made  mostly x-military Special Forces persons and or Army and Marines and vetrans of foreign countries such as the SAS and others like them, who are also mainly conservative so therefore you will have to hire a new private army.

They're mercenaries. You pay them, they show up.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with the fundamentals of communism.  In theory it's a great idea.  However, it fails horrifically in every way shape and form because humans are flawed.  The whole point of communism is to make everyone equal...the problem is that none of us are equal, and so communism falls ridiculously short of the utopia it's supposed to provide.

No need to get all worked up.  You do realize that the person you quoted was not the first poster to mention communism in relation to liberalism, right? 

No, I do not believe that being a liberal is equal to communism.

While my statement on communism was overall a joke, the POINT of the statement was that we need balance, and balance does not come without opposition (Chaos...oxymoronic, but necessary, no?). 

Communism is about finding harmony because fundamentally we are all equal, but we all know that isn't true.  There is always someone smarter, faster, better than us in some way shape or form...each of us bests another person in some area....and that creates balance.  We compliment those that are weak in the areas we are strong in, and vice versa.

So smart or not, he's not always giving his listeners factual information and if you care about that sort of thing you should check out what he says for yourself. If you need to make stuff up to prove your point, it's a sign that it won't hold up on its own merits.

We just established earlier that the very left CNN network posted an article that was not so accurate, or maybe half accurate at the time and never corrected it or updated it.......when ya spin the truth.........

Oh, please.  Can you honestly tell me you spent the time to search CNN for a correction/update to that exact article?  Or are you just making a huge leap and assuming there wasn't one, for the convenience of making a point here?  If you really did search for a retraction/update and didn't find one, then I apologize in advance for this statement.

I feel the same way about people making jokes and cheap shots about Islam, the Qur'an, etc.  Not all Muslim places are hell.  Many conservatives have an equally distorted view of their culture and most of the people I know spouting these views have never lived, much less been, to a Muslim country or province.
