ya'll are going to hate me. I lost almost 30 lbs in a few months. Because I am having dental work done and I've had 4 teeth pulled this year, so far, I knew I better get used to some soft food. You eat soft food for a few days after an extraction to avoid getting food lodged in the sockets. Anyway, I tried a sample of Dannon's Light and Fit and really liked the taste, which was paramount to me. And then, I thought, why not try some low fat and sugar free puddings and jellos instead of the cookies and ice cream I've had every day for the last 8 or 9 years. And while I'm at it, why not cut out the fried foods. Get roasted chicken instead of fried. I've been using Brummels and Brown for a long time. It's a yogurt based spread that tastes like butter. So, instead of peanut butter and jelly for breakfast, it's B & B and sugar free jam or preserves. And I've always liked whole wheat bread for the taste. Plus, I work in construction and it's hot down here in the Lone Star State. In March, I weighed 253 lbs. I've been holding at about 225 lbs. since May. I work out, as well. Denser muscle mass burns more fat.
You can eat whatever portion satisfies, just don't eat fat. DW got us on to fat free organic milk and I swear it tastes better than the whole and 2% I used to drink. One thing I have found since cutting out a lot of fat is that my satiation levels change. I don't have to eat half a chicken and some potato salad to feel full.
My gut is gone, my love handles are gone, and my keister is non-existant. Seriously, I had to cut another hole in my belt to keep my pants up. My measurements are 6' 6" tall, 225 lbs., 38 inch waist, 44 inch chest. I guess that's okay for being 44 years old.
Letting the hating of me begin. Worst of all, I wasn't trying to lose weight, just looking for foods that I can eat while undergoing several major dental procedures.
Hint: when buying steak, anything that says loin or round is lean. My favorite cut is top sirloin and petite sirloin, but eye of round will also do. Chicken has the lowest fat. Game meat such as deer may be lower but it helps to know a hunter or a meat plant, such as Fisher's in Muenster, Tx. They make a venison and jalapeno sausage that is worth the effort of finding it.
