Old Movie !! What a HOOT

Turner Classic Movie just ran an OLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLDDDD 1933 William Powell movie called the Kennel Club Murder.... It was actually very funny aside from my grandaughter asking several times about the lack of color ....

The Murder Mystery was solved with the help of Figaro the Doberman !

    Still chuckling

I WATCHED A COUPLE OF OLDCHRLIE CHAN MOVIES A COUPLE OF WEEKS GO---FROM BACK IN THE 30'S.  BACK IN '56 I HAD RHEUMATIC FEVER AND HAD TO SPEND 6 WEEKS IN BED---AFTER I GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL.  MY FEET WERE NOT ALLOWED TO TOUCH THE FLOOR (NOTHING LIKE USING A BED AN FOR 6 WEEKS WHEN YO ARE 10 YEARS OLD)

MOM AND DAD MOVED MY BED INTO THE LIVINGRO0M SO I COULD BE WITH FAMILY ALL THE TIME, AND ALSO WATCH TV...WHICH WE HAD ONLY HAD A FEW MONTHS.  AT THAT TIME WE GOT ONE TV STATION. KLTV OUT OF TYLER AND IT DIDN'T START AIRING TIL 2:30 AND STARTED WITH A  MOVIE.  AND I REMEMBE WATCHING ALL THOSE OLD CHARLIE CHAN AND THIN MAN MOVIES AND LOVED THEM ALL.  BUT BACK THEN THEY WERE SO OLD...LIKE ABOUT 20 YEARS.  AND TDAY WE DON'T--AT LEAST MOT I KNOW KNOW, DON'T EVEN CONSIDER THE STR WAR MOVEIS (FIRST ONES), INDIAN JONES MOVIES, JAWS, ETC REALLY SO OLD.

I have a good portion of the Charlie Chan movies on tape.  I lloooooovvve them! I also have the Sherlock Holmes series ( Rathbone/Bruce) and love to watch them as well.

some folks do lol people around my age consider anything older than ten years as ancient.... most annoying to me! a classic is NEVER old. (btw my mom is a Charlie Chan and Thin Man fan lol)

and i added Kennel Club Murder to my netflix list, buts it not available yet.... maybe soon. i hope.... it better be...

i watch a lot of old tv shows (TVland) old movies, Hallmark (Murder Shewrote, Waltn,s Little Houe), etc.  And the thing is, our Tv is about 25 years ol.    It as my mom's and I got itwhen she died in '89.  Is a magnavox console and has never had one cent of work done on it.  Is a beautiful TV and I dread the day it goes out.  Only good thing is we will get a much larger screen.

But, what I was going tosay is myhubby is alway saying since we have such n old tv, the ny shows and movies I can watch are the old ones.  Antique TV with antique shows.  But teya re the best.

Hey, new movies are quality entertainment!  Just check this one out, sure to strike fear in every border collie on the planet!

    BRING ME THE BORDER COLLIE!!!!

Hilarious!  The stuff of border collie nightmares!

"Perry Mason" is, hands down, my all time favorite TV show. I own a bunch of them on video and watch them regularly.  Ahhh, comfort programs (like comfort food) NEVER go out of style!

    • Gold Top Dog

Ohh, I LOVE 'Murder She Wrote" and "Matlock" and "Perry Mason"

Now I want to watch that Kennel Club Murder.....

My MIL adored Murder she wrote and Matlock so when we were ready for a dog show trip the Hubs would tapes weeks of them ahead of time so she could watch them on the road. She was a very frail and often ill woman who lived with us for the last 14.5 years of her llife.

    LMAO!!!

you are one sick puppy, you know that right?

    where did you find that!?

and i wont say all movies are crappy today - i'm going to see Nim's Island this weekend. i loved the Waterhorse and the Potter movies but... and i'm in love with nearly anything Gerard Butler and Clive Owen have done.. but thats the extent of my viewing pleasure these days.

i finally signed up for netflix and havent regretted it(except i wish i had gotten the plan for four or five movies at once, not one at a time every three days....grrrr..) most of the films in my queue are either old or are about old times.
