Dunkin Donuts vs. Starbucks vs...Other?

I've never had a cup of coffee.  I like hot chocolate, but I like the way I make it better than Starbucks.  My mom loves coffee and says McDs is pretty good.

I've been to DD but it was quite a long time ago (we went atleast one-twice a week) and a time where I thought coffee was "yucky". But then came along Starbucks.....and Mr.Buck is my best friend. No not really but his caramel fraps sure are!

BTW- I can drink coffee all day, before bed, and it seems not to affect me (it probably does though) but I get 8+ hours of good sleep every night!

You said it! I could drink coffee at 1130 at night and not have a problem going to sleep!

I get criticized at work because I could drink coffee alllllll dayyyyy long. And if someone offers to get it? My ears perk up. Especially around 330 or 4, I definitely need a refill. :)

And for those of you who live near new york and have travelled along the jersey turnpike. What is with the starbucks at every rest stop? What happened to good old dunkin donuts?  Coffee

Me too! Everytime my brother is going out I'm like "Wait...do you mind getting me...?" he always just rolls his eyes...sometimes I think he tries to sneak out before me noticing. Stick out tongue HeeHee!

Totally off topic but Blacklabbie...are you a BoSox fan?

I noticed that, last time I was there! I'm pretty sure the FL turnpike is the same way, tho. Maybe they have rights to it or something.

I used to be a hardcore Starbucks girl, but I've actually switched to McDonalds iced coffee.  It's REALLY really good, and at $1.69 for a medium, it's a steal!

I still go to Starbucks for my once-in-a-great-while Peppermint Mochas that I love so much. Smile

I think I'm going to try a few different blends in my own coffee maker to see if I can't make good iced coffee on my own.  We'll see!

    OH MY GOSH. Krispy Kreme.

Before coming to the South I had no idea about Krispy Kremes But Ya'll have NO idea how awesome the donuts are.  I went from NEVER eating donuts to buying a steady supply to help with every school fud raiser etc. I would bring them to work, send them into the Hub's office and even my vet's office would get a couple dozen a month.

As far as coffee goes the FIRST time I ever had a cup of coffee I was 16 years old. We, ( a group I belonged to ) had speant the summer working in Central and South America, so I was ready to come home and like any self respecting Californian 16 year old I had speant every dime I had enroute to the airport...after all they would be feeding us etc so I did n't "need" money right?  Then we got to the Airport in Managua Nicaragua and our flight was delayed....not just  an hour or two but 9 hours!!!!  Being a group of kids the airport did not find it necessary to offer any comps of any type. But Thank the Stars for the Columbian Coffee booth.... a great looking guy in his early 20's kept refilling my cup of what had to be the world's best coffee with tons of cream and sugar and talking about his dreams to come to the States , which school he wanted to attend and what places he wanted to visit. He never did take the 2.00 I had found in the bottom of my duffle bag. I framed that 2.00 and kept it as a good luck charm for years.

BTW 9 hours of Premium Columbian Coffee with scads of sugar meant my friends and I did not sleep even 10 minutes on the 10 plus hour flight home to LAX.... talk about wired for sound!!  The Flight Attendants became so worn out by our constant chatter they comped several of the 17-19 year olds drinks hoping to slow them down enough to get a minute without questions and debates.... it was a heck of a flight !

Oh... I love Tim Horton's. There's one I pass somewhere in Connecticut on my was to Massachusetts. I never stop though, because getting on and off at that location is annoying. I've also never actually wanted anything when I was driving though the town.

Never have gone in a SB.  I visit DD every morning on the way to work.  I don't like how they have changed over the years.  I like going in, get my coffee without waiting.  In the past, I was only delayed by the customer in front of me who ordered a dozen donauts and took a minute to select each individual one.  Now, I have to wait for the speciality coffees, the ice coffees, and the hot sandwich.  If the delay gets too long, I goto McD for their coffee, which isn't as good.

    Other.  Caribou Coffee....

I guess I'm just not a "go out for coffee" person, but I have coffee if I go out for breakfast. I'd just as soon make a pot at home.  I really like the Kirkland (Costco) brand of coffee - it's rich, dark, tastes great and it's about $7 for a 3 lb. can.  When hot weather comes, I keep a pitcher of cold coffee in the fridge and just pour it over ice along with whatever I'd put in it if it was hot - a little sugar and some flavored coffee creamer - the current faves being Southern Butter Pecan and Vanilla Chai Spice.

For real. Do they have coffee though? They definitely have the best donuts on the planet...

I don't go out for coffee. I'm way too picky, and way too cheap/poor. I hate hot coffee, I hate unflavored coffee, and I hate cow's milk (I thought I'd be okay with it in a yummy iced coffee, but McDonald's stuff is bleehh..tastes like..cow teets. LOL). So basically my choice is...Starbucks, and yeah right, $5 for a coffee that probably wouldn't meet my standards anyway...

I use a cup of strong flavored coffee (8 O'Clock hazelnut and Folger's Gourmet caramel are my favorites, but a cup of vanilla Senseo, or really most other flavored coffees will do in a pinch...not hazelnut Senseo though.. bleeeeeeh), a few teaspoons of raw sugar (and I really miss that faint molasses flavor with white sugar), a cup to a cup and a half (depending on how strong the coffee is) of plain Silk soymilk (nothing else has the right taste or texture..), poured over a lot of ice in a nice big cup, with a straw! yummy! I tend to drink at least 3 of these a day.

And now I'm sad because I'm out of Silk...
