Dream job

    Dream job

Since I was 12 I've always wanted to be a jockey. I have always loved horses though for as long as I can remember. Today I found out that I can actually go to school to become a jockey. And the school is only only like an hour and a half away!! So in 2 years I will be trying to attend this school. Samantha will be in all day kindergarden by then. I so can not wait!! I am excited even though it will be 2 years before I can do this. But by then I should have the tuition and be at the right weight for riding.

So guys what is your dream job or are you lucky and already working it?

My dream job is to be an RN. I'm not sure what division of the hospital I'd like to work in but I just know I want to be a nurse so bad I can feel it.

Right now I work at a doctors office and connot currently afford going to school, as I support myself. One day, *sigh* I will go back to school...one day....

My dream job is to be working in a vet's office. And I'm going to school in September to make it happen. Smile

    Neat idea for a thread.

I'm currently in my dream job: Behavior Coordinator for a humane society.  I was super lucky and got this job straight out of college.  Other than a few bumps related to the organization's structure and how things move through it, it's everything I had hoped for and I hope to continue doing this for a long time. :)

My DREAM job? Stay-at-home-mom. (this is where I get flack, lol)

Realistically, tho, I'll have to work and that's why I'm an elementary ed. major. I love love LOVE working with elementary school age kids and plan on getting a masters in Special Ed once I get my Elementary Ed degree. I'm going to need to work, a little, if I ever want to pay off my student debts.

For those who want to go back to school, but can't afford it, there are LOTS of financial aide programs, especially in fields like nursing.

I've always loved doing things with animals and I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty.  I suppose my dream of dreams would be to work at the Cheetah Conservatory in Namibia.  Cheetahs are my favorite animal and Namibia is one of the most awesome places on earth.  DH is a teacher and we have always talked about moving to Africa so he can teach there.  If/when that happens, I'd probably be a stay-at-home mom or possibly do work in my field (like marketing/communications for a non-profit).  We were going to join a program right away, but now we have so many pets, I can't leave them behind and it's not practical to take them along so this will be something we do when our future kids are older and current furkids have passed.

Realistically, the things I love don't pay the bills, so I am happy just having a job that offers enough benefits for us to live comfortably and for me to do what I love on my spare time (photography and training and competing with dogs).  The things I've done lately that have made me feel the most accomplished are things I never got paid for (photographing wedding, designing web sites, volunteering at the shelter, helping the GSD rescues...).

My dream job is to be a K-9 law enforcement officer. And if not that then a Humane law enforcement officer. I have already graduated from Vet assistant college and am waiting ill I turn 21 to be a police officer (about 9 months). The I'm just gonna work my way up =)

I want to be a philanthropist!  Have so much money I can just give it away! lol

It's the whole "making-enough-to-BECOME-a-philanthropist" that is the hard part.  I think I'd do well in real estate - as much as I hate sales, I'm good at it.

I'm not sure what my dream job is. If I were, I'd be working towards it. But I'm so conflicted.

I'd really like to do something that would allow me to travel a lot, raise my own future kids (not necessarily a stay-at-home-mom, but I can't see myself having kids if they're just gonna be at daycare, school, or with a nanny 50 hours a week), and have a lot of dogs. But the only real dream job I have is to run my own animal rescue/sancturary. And clearly that's not compatible with a lot of travel, or a lot of time with my own family, so..I don't know. Maybe I could settle for working for a rescue.

I have a lot of possible careers in my head, but the only thing I can actually see myself doing long-term is something with dogs, and more specifically, something helping rescue and shelter dogs.

Can I second the stay at home mom, dream?  We already know that DH will be the stay at home parent, when we decide to have kids.  It's a much better decision, financially, to have him stay at home, & me work.

Realistically, I would love to be a social worker.  Preferably working with child protective services.  Unfortunately, as much as I would love to spend my days trying to help kids, I know that it is only a dream.

kle- that is so funny, because when i was really young i wanted to be a jockey. It's actually hilarious because i'm like 5' 6.

I'm not sure what my dream job is...i really like farming, and i think it would be cool to be a k9 cop. Ideally, i would like to do something with horses or dogs (but not be a vet!)

I will be an RN in December, and i'm pretty excited about it, but i wouldn't call it my dream job.

My dream job would be to train and work with tigers, starting out from when they are young until they are full grown. I was just watching something on Animal Planet about these couple of trainers at a zoo, who raise tiger cubs and train them to interact with humans.

My goal job is to provide evaluation, consultation and liason services to parents with children with disabilities (with the goal being to integrate services within the students local district without having to ever go to court).  My dream job is to open my own school with hand picked staff and a budget that would let us do just about anything.

There is also mentoring.  You can do that and dont have to be concerned about the salary or benefits.Wink
