rwbeagles-The fur has officially started flying!

EVERYBODY on four legs in this house is blowing coat LOL!

The winners of this year's SPRING BLOW AWARDS, are:

Cleo is the winner of the "Most Tufts Left On The Carpet" Award! *applause*

Yahoo the cat wins for "Most Individual Hairs Dropped"  *applause*

Buckwheat wins the coveted "Most Likely To Mat" Award! *applause*

Ellie, Nonnie, and Mama Cat didn't take any awards this year but as always it is an honor JUST to be nominated. There's some stiff competition in this house and they are all ready for the challenge next year!

Congrats to the winners.....I think.  I'm so sick of cleaning up fur in this RV.  I'm sure glad that you can find something to laugh about with blowing.

Today is going to be near sixty so we're going outside and do some very serious brushing.

Yes yes, I could give out some awards in my house too:

Dakota: The scruffiest looking undercoat blowing tufts hanging off her behind award

Neiko: Most Likely to Mat award (good title!)

Lily: Most Individual Hairs dropped award

    Trucker: Longest Lasting shed award

    Wohoo!

    THIS JUST IN....

The panel has seen fit to award a SPECIAL HONOR..."LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT IN MATTING"

This exceptional award is bestowed upon BUCKWHEAT....for her outstanding commitment to avoiding grooming by any means necessary. Her staunch opposition to clippers, and her seemingly inexhaustable energy when it comes to running away from anyone with a brush.

    BUCKWHEAT...WE HONOR YOU!

I love this thread! Here are the awards at my house:

Best shedding on expensive furniture: Rosco, for his boundless dedication to sleeping and shedding as much as possible on the new couch.

Most likely to be naked: Luna, for loosing as much undercoat as possible the week of a dog show.

Most hairs lost per minute: Lexi, for her short, think outercoat and dense, dense undercoat that seems to regenerate and shed on an hourly basis.

MVT (Most Valuable Tool): #80 Resco Comb in Medium. Without you, Luna would be a mess.

LOL This thread made me laugh.

Teddi gets the award of "Turning the grey seats completely white in the SUV" award for all the hair he's losing EVERYWHERE!!

Maggie isn't blowing much of anything, YET..

well just how many very dark brown/black brindle eyelash length hairs does one dog need?

Bugsy gets the award for the biggest scaredy cat dog.  I recently got one of those slicker brushes, it is very soft and very small but he thinks its attacking him.  So I can only do it really, really, really gentle and then I use the rubber brush

I love my nonshedding beasties! Such a blessing compared to some of the other shedders. But they can mat if not combed regularly (although Gaci only ever mats in the armpits and belly, which I keep clipped anyhow).

I almost envy the Terrier group....but, then I remember my good friend who owns an Australian Terrier......eeek......all the grooming cost......the blade works best for me with two GSDs and 2 Northern breeds.......

Dublin get the award for "MOST RED HAIR STUCK TO MY RED LIPSTICK"

Okay so I am a girly girl and wear lipstick to the dog park.  With the windows down his newly shedded hairs are flying everywhere including in my eyes while I drive!  Spitting hairs with one hand over my ear because he whines the whole way there....it's a miracle I haven't had an accident yet.

Gina, is Buckwheat an inside or outside dog? My dogs are outside/inside and sleep inside at night, they spend time inside when it gets too cold or too hot outside..........so, I honestly think, at times I have been able to adjust the shedding season..........but, since, our winter has been mild.....we have early shedding.....

Two days running we filled to overflowing the five gallon bucket that we were using for dog fur....and that was with stuffing it all down as we went.  However, that's ten gallons of fur that won't be in the RV to clean up.......
