    Mindless Chatter - Tues

    Good morning!

It's always so hard to get moving on Tuesdays. I slept pretty good last night though, with the exception of some crazy dreams that I can't remember. I just remember thinking that it was a crazy dream.

I could so go back to bed and sleep for another hour.

Today should be really busy at work.

Back to work for me today. I like NOT getting up at 5AM thank you! I can handle getting up at 7:30 or 8 much better. I got a lot done over my weekend too.

Last night Max woke up and was seriously restless. Don't know why, I know it was not a storm. So I pet her for a while and she fell back asleep. I love my girl Smile I don't want her to have a bad nights sleep. We let Teddi sleep on the bed last night. Tonight it is Belle's turn, of course it will be interesting keeping Teddi down. I hope to get the bike out tonight for Belle. She will be so excited.

I don't know what it is, but Cheza was sooooo bratty last night. She was so hyper. She got plenty of exercise, but she is used to play time with my sil's dogs, and she hasn't been able to get it for a few days so I think thats it. I pulled out the clicker and tried to do a bit of training but she was just too distracted. Normally that will help a bit when she is spazzy. She is almost 6 months now, maybe she is just hitting a new bad puppy stage.

My sil came home yesterday to find that her lab Bailey had removed her collar and eaten it. Surprise She ate every last bit of nylon and ate one plastic tag (a micro-chip tag), but she left the plastic buckle, the d-ring and the metal tags. They are of course very worried. This dog has a problem with that. She caught and swallowed a bird (didn't chew it) last week, and the week before that she swallowed a rope toy, but she threw that up. They are getting her to the vet tonight. After the bird incident she has had a bad stomach, and now with the collar....

I'm thinking of going to a tanning salon tonight for the first time ever.  I have no clue how it works.  I got tan in Florida and want to keep it until the wedding in 2 weeks.

definitely should have stayed in bed this morning.  Woke up and heard this strange noise in the freezer - well the ice maker had gone mad so when I opened the door ice flew all over the floor

Then left in a hurry to meet someone for golf and they called and cancelled as I turned into the parking lot.  So played on my own and at one point my bag on a 3 wheel push cart decided to roll down into a brook.  This sent my cell phone into the brook and now it is dead.

Will it revive?  Does anyone know?

And got home and one of my clients has decided that she doesn't need a coach - we had agreed to one more month so I will miss that cash.  Ah well, its still early Indifferent

Good day for me, so far.  Had to drop the boys off at day-care this morning with a possibility of them staying overnight - depending on how long my dinner meeting lasts.  If I can get there by 8 to pick them up it will be good.  I don't know how I will sleep at home if they have to stay in day-care overnight!

The owner of their day-care and I were chattting this morning and she said that Monroe is a funny lab.  She went on to say that he pretends to be all tough and rule the pool but he is really more "clingy" than the other labs they have.  I don't know if this is good or bad!

In other news:  I have a Beta fish on my desk at work, in a tank.  Today is water changing day and his tank really needs a cleaning, which is a big chore when at work!  Wish me luck...

I usually tan every winter. I need the bright light to keep me sane. I meant to post on the previous thread it really does help. The place should show you everything. Do NOT let them let you go longer than 7 minutes even with your tan the first time. If you have no pink from that you can increase but the light is different. I error on the side of caution. I usually use the beds and take a nap, the shutting off of the bed wakes me up. Some are clausterphobic. I don't like the stand ups but they work fine except for the top of your feet. Most tanning salons are licensed and good with cleanliness and trained staff. I went in Jan and Feb before going to CA. My tan is gone boo hoo.

I'm sooo tired.  I couldn't sleep last night due to the pain in my jaw.  Apparently, they had to take out some bone when they were removing my lower right wisdom tooth, and yesterday it started hurting SO bad.  I tossed and turned all night crying, and it's very swollen today.  Luckily, my oral surgeon can fit me in tomorrow at 2pm, and the nurse filled a prescription of Vicodin for me.  Normal Advil wasn't even putting a dent in the pain. Sad

I think I'm going to take Honor to the dog park, then pick up my prescription and just chill out at home.  Stupid dental procedures...and it was going so well too!

On the plus side, DH and I are waiting to hear back if our bid is going to be accepted on the home we want to buy!  If we win, I'm going to post pictures in the Photo Section!

Creepy, creepy, creepy. . .there is a trail off the main trail at one of the places we go to pretty often.  The few times I've tired to take Willow on this side trail she didn't like it.  She wanted to turn back after awhile.  I never understood it because there is not much different other than less people.  Well, today we went further than we've ever gone on this trail and came across a GRAVE--nine soldiers.  A stone next to the grave gives the story and the title, Nine Man's Misery.

When did you have the surgery done? If it's been a few days, you've probably either got a dry socket (very common) or possibly an infection. If you're in a lot of pain, I'd call the office back and tell them you need to be seen today and if they can't get you in, ask them to refer you to someone else. When I worked as a dental asst, we always fit in post-op patients who were in pain. That pain can be horrible and if it's really bad, even Vicodin won't help.

I got dry socket when I got my wisdom teeth out. It was really really painful. They gave me vicodin which made me vomit about a half hour after I took it, and that made the pain even worse.

    You have my sympathy.

Oh I think that is pretty cool actually. I love old grave markers.

There's not a cloud in the sky today and I'm loving it. Of course I only get out doors 3x during the day (2 breaks and a lunch) but that's ok. We don't get enough of these cloud free days imo so I try to soak them up for all they're worth.

I'm feeling like I have a minor setback with the flu situation though. Achy, stuffy head, coughing. I felt better yesterday. I must not have slept as well as I thought last night because I'm still tired as heck today.

I went to the doc's and all is well. Cholesterol is a tad bit high but nothing to worry about. I talked with the doc and her student shadow (the student was great, she's going to make a good doc) for a long time about what habits I need to change over the next month. We set 2 goals for me - plan to eat healthier snacks at night. I always eat a snack around 8pm before bed and it's always something not good (chips, doritos, ice cream, etc) so that's my goal - to change what I eat at snack time. The other goal is to get to the gym at least twice per week and keep up with my nightly doggy activities. These are pretty minor changes but should make a big difference. I have to go back in a month and they are going to help me with my next goals.

I told the doc that I'm having a hard time getting to the gym because I won't give up my doggy activities after work. My dogs love it and I love it but I can't go to the gym and do the doggy stuff after work. There's just not enough time. So, lunch time work outs are going to be the solution. My boss said she is ok with extended lunches for trips to the gym (she goes there to swim 3x per week at lunch). Now I just need to shake this sickness so I feel up to going!

One of BF's friends lives in an old 'cracker' style house and Pirate gets the heebie jeebies from it. He won't go past the front porch. That's neat tho Willow's mom.

Way to go Jewliee! Small changes are best, I think. We'll all be here rooting for you too!

I think BF has the same thing as Jewliee. He was feeling better on Saturday/Sunday but then on Monday/today he isn't feeling that great. Hm, strraaaange. He felt better on the weekend huh?

I hate stupid general education classes. WHAT on Earth will I need to know about music history to teach 1st graders? Seriously. And this poor guys lectures are so dry and boring. Most of us have our laptops open 'to take notes'.

That's what I do and it works out great. I'm too tired and the gym is too crowded to go after work. Before I started going on my lunch hour, I'd end up sitting in my office and that made for a super long day. I feel great on the days I go to the gym though and it's nice getting off work and not having to worry about it.

The guy washing windows for the bldg stopped in a few min's ago. He said he went to wash one and it popped open because it wasn't locked. He showed me and I realized that none of the 4 windows were locked and I'd never noticed it since we moved into this office. Anyone could've broken in with ease and stolen 10 brand new computers. I'd have felt pretty stupid trying to explain that to the police or my boss Embarrassed

I used to work in NY at a private family farm taking care of show horses. They were very close to Manhattanville College in Purchase, and we had permission to ride on the college grounds. The land the college was purchased on was once an indian burial ground. When ever we got near that part of the property the horses would get skittish. I learned why after a few rides so it was not me! So animals are keen to that kind of thing.

Jewlieee it is so cool you can go at lunch. My old office had a gym in the building (not that I ever went) and you could go at anytime during your work hours and they encouraged it. They also had a "family room" equipped with a computer if you had day care issues and had to bring your kids to work. They also had a salon, discounts to movies, etc. It has been voted one of the best places to work in the US (top 50 or 25 I can't remember) for several years in a row according to Money magazine. They did have great perks, just not easy to advance or move laterally for that matter.
