Goodbye, sweet girl.  Run free at the Bridge.[:(]

I am doing OK ,the other 14 are keeping me fairly busy. However some of them are acting very strange.Mostly Baily,Babe abd Rowan. All 3 are just whining constantly! I went on all night! I got up several times to see if they needed to go out, were thirsty ect.I would take them out and they would just stand there.Bring them back in and the whining starts again immediately.Very strange.Rowan is the collie,he is a pretty smart guy.Think he knows whats going on? Babe is the disabled Rottie. She spent alot of time with Mia relaxing on the back porch.Bailey is a mix breed and he and Mia never really got along. They had more than one scuffle the past couple of months.
Some sleep would have been nice last night but i understand their grief.I dont know what i can do for them besides let them cry.
They dont grieve when another dog is adopted. They must have been able to tell the difference somehow.

They are more aware than you might think. And yes, they can mourn, too.

Condolences to you and you are strong and brave for doing what needed to be done.

I'm just now up to the chapter in "For the Love of a Dog" about grief and this statement fascinates me .... assuming they do understand death (and I think they do) I hope they also understand that Mia is in a better place now

Good bye Mia. We'll see you at the Bridge.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

Mia is running free now without pain.  What an awsome dog momma you are for helping her in her last few months, and giving her love and a warm bed to lay down in.  She'll be waiting for you at the bridge, ready to run up and give you a big sled dog howl.[sm=angel.gif]

Reading this makes me tear up as well.  Send her my love and hugs!
