    Mindless Chatter - Sat

     *yawn*

This is going to be a pretty busy weekend. Tonight I'm meeting a friend after class. Tomorrow early I have to drive an hour to my sisters, have breakfast then we're going to work on her baby shower. Then I have to rush home by 4pm for disc dog training. And a friend is coming up to spend the night on top of all that!

I guess I should spend some time cleaning.

I'm going to make a crockpot dinner for tonight - roast, potatoes and carrots. mmmmmouth watering!

Is there some sort of warm weather dance that I need to do to get spring started early?

I agreed to go watch my “lil sis” play soccer. I didn’t realize that the coordinators of the soccer league were sadistic enough to schedule a game at 8am on a Saturday morning! I am up & getting ready to head for the soccer fields.

While I’m at soccer, BF is taking Brinxx to herding class. Brinxx loves BF, & does much better with him in charge, than she does with me. I’m hoping that they bond, & BF’s need to have a “dog of his own” will pass. We really don’t need another dog…

Roast sounds really good, Jewlieee.  I wonder if we have one in the freezer...Off to go see.

    You sound busy busy Jewlieee!

I am still laying in bed.  I literally haven;t gotten out yet, and I have to go to the bathroom SO SO SO BAD lol.

I am going to shower then go to BFs house, his nephew is there this weekend so we will be taking him out and about.  YAY LONG WEEKEND!!  The 18th is "Family DAY" a new holiday invented in Canada because the USA has a holiday lol.  This is the first "Family Day" ever lol.

Last night BF and I went to dinner with my brother and his girlfriend, it was really nice.

UGH I don't want to get out of my toasty warm bed!

If anyone figures out that warm weather dance, kindly share it with me?  It is ZERO this morning!  And tomorrow we are getting snow followed by a "wintry mix"...will be 31 degrees so just cold enough for it to be an icy mess.  Crap!  I'm sooooo sick of winter.  I need sunshine sooooo badly.  I've actually even considered going to a tanning bed just to get some rays!  I don't do that anymore, but I'm so very much in need of sunshine that I'd almost consider it just to get some!

I'm thinking crocus, tulips, dafodils......SPRING!  Heck at this point I'd even welcome the rain that comes with spring!

So THIS year the danged snowmobilers are actually staying OUT of the woods and fields and not leaving any paths for me to walk on.  Yesterday I got STUCK in a drift.  Didn't realize it was there....just suddenly I went all the way down past my waist!  It's all WHITE, no contrast and it didn't LOOK any deeper there.........fun stuff trying to claw my way out!  And my dogs just stood there looking at me!  Think that today I'll slap harnesses on a few of them so I have something to grab onto and let them help pull me out should it happen again.  Sigh.  What I do for my dogs!

Oh my, you have it bad for sure! Don't you own snow shoes way up there?

well we can't give you rain but I could go in the garden and take a photo of the hyacinths (how confused are they?) or the shoots for the daffodils and tulips.   Or my neighbor's daffodils that are blooming.  Its so strange its been like the coldest winter here since we moved here in '04 so I don't know why these bulbs are doing their thing.  I can only guess its the drought thing.

Have I mentioned that I am real glad we are on an individual well instead of city water?  They might just run out in May - completely.  But they are still building new houses, condos, businesses etc.  They really need to get their heads right on this and fast.  Ah well.

Need to run around today and try to find Mr B is food.  For some reason hardly anyone stocks the big bag of Barking at the Moon.

All ten new windows are in and I am HAPPY!  Still need to clean up the garage and do some painting but thats cool.  I don't know about anyone else's dog but Bugsy will find any tiny piece of anything so I was out powervac'ing the deck and will have to do the same for the garage. He still found something minuscule that he knew he shouldn't have, weirdo!

I DO own snow shoes.  But, they are big, clunky, and not easy to use.  Not to mention that I'm a klutz anyway.......

YES!!!  Take pics of spring flowers!!  PLEASE take pictures of spring flowers....show me some hope!

     Here ya go, Glenda!

Ah, but Glenda if you can get decently good on your snowshoes, just think of how graceful you'll be on your own two feet!

I am actually looking forward to spring too.  My water is still frozen.  Its just finally warmed up enough today to think of trying to get it to thaw.  We have to leave the tap in the bathroom running to keep the water from freezing and once in a while some little boy forgets after he brushes his teeth and nobody notices.  Then BAM 2 hours later, no water.  Once spring comes the bottom of the house is getting insulated like you wouldn't believe.  I am NOT doing this again next winter.  I would do anything for a shower right now.

well my day is a sore one. This morning at like 3 am, i went downstairs to get a drink. well, some how i missed the first stair and tumbled down. I now have a hematoma about the size of a grapefruit on the side of my uppper thigh! I can see it through my scrubs. i also have severe carpet burn on top of that and on my arm. I might just have to take some pics later...

Ahhhhhh!  Spring flowers.  Thanks Marty.  I *almost* feel warmer!

Oh, and the snowshoe thing?  It's colder to land on my FACE in the snow when I step on myself than to just sink down into it.....padded parts first !

So pretty - thanks Marty!  Those daffodils are so sweet!  I wonder what sort of "spring" flowers we will have here in AZ.

Going back to the Animal Fest w/Gracie - this time to shop.  Then I will head up to the BF's dad's house to see how big the puppies are - and see my favorite horse - and then back here to, hopefully, work on Jada's training again.

Had to work today. On Wednesday, the a/c's were being set on the roof at work, so I just took the whole day off to take care of something. Had to work to day to make up for it. Got my feet completely soaked, all my outer gear completely soaked. We had just sat down for lunch at noon when the masonry boss stopped by to tell us that a round of bad storms was headed our way with even more rain (it never stopped while I was at work), possible hail, and of course, every weather person just gung-ho and slobbering for tornados. None reported but "it could happen." Anyway, we decided to pack it up and get out of there by 1:00. So, I got 6 hours today, which is better than nothing. OTOH, I'm starting to feel better with the cold I have been suffering.

What makes me want to puke is how some weather "personalities", like the twits on the weather channel, can't wait to talk about tornados. I know it makes for exciting tv.  I would like to take a few of them and place them in the damage path of such a storm and see how awesome they think it is. Tornados destroy property and kill people and they really shouldn't throw that word around without knowing what they are talking about.

Here in north Texas, temps have been in the upper 30's to mid 40's, not nearly warm enough to have a tornado.

    I'm done griping.

I am working on Corporate taxes today...at least it is from the comfort of my own home though.  I really love to be able to work remotely especially this time of year when I spend so much time in the office already.  My friend came over with her husband and we had a nice little visit and a glass of wine.  She was delivering some things I ordered at a party she had.  Hubby is outside working on the smoker.  He is smoking ribs and then later we will grill some chicken and shrimp and we have some friends coming over for dinner.  I would much rather be in the kitchen making yummy stuff but I will keep working on taxes for another hour or two.

    • Gold Top Dog

I think we need to come over for dinner.Big Smile

Actually, though, with the nasty weather, I should probably stay home. DW is sick with an upset stomach and sinus allergies, she had to call off work. But I do have to run out later to get more dog food and maybe some human food.
